The server and game updates that were paired with the release of the Dragon’s Teeth expansion are reportedly breaking the game, nearly sending the development team’s improvements back to square one.
The Battlefield 4 forums are exploding with reports that multiplayer matches are suffering heavily from lag spikes, mutual kills, one hit kills, kills behind cover, rubberbanding and worsened hit detection. I’m sure these all sound familiar. These issues have plagued all Battlefield 4 players at one point or another. And now they’re almost as common as they were several months ago.

That "should" work in favour of you to be honest.... the more lag between you and your opponents should mean that the "client side hit detection" should be more in your balance.

For example, the other day I was killed by a rifle. There was no person on my screen to shoot at, just the rifle moving along and firing.... Once I died, the person with the rifle appeared on screen.
I frequently have people come through a doorway, see, shoot and kill me, THEN appear on my screen.
I've got kills a few times by simply wandering near a doorway and firing at an empty doorway.... If someone is unlucky enough to be coming through it at the time (even though not on my screen) they get shot....
I can fly a vehicle and it lags, when it unlags, I've hit the ground.
I can be shot down by missiles which hit me, THEN I hear the "beep" of the rocket launch..
I've played on a mate's system with a good 6mb, then it is a totally different ballgame and I tend to be MVP with a 3:1 KDR...

Most of us have mics and will chat, but lack the organisation. I had a chat party set up, but forgot to send out invites!
To add to Jas ^^ I find it rare that I can get to the trigger to return fire in a face to face, basically I see them, go for the trigger hear thud thud then off to map it is... Only once or twice have I had it where Ive shot 2 opponents in front of me, it really does seem like they see me long before I see them.
As for the shooting through doorways, on Metro Ive been shot while in the corner of the L shaped corridor (from the ticket office) by someone sniping on the platform. Tell me if Im wrong but you dont have a straight line of sight from there anyway.

Same. I can also aim at someone, see the hit marker on their head go X, then die. And they have 100%. I can also have someone coming towards me re-loading, so I shoot them, die, and they have 100% health.....They don't even open fire on my screen... Maybe a heart attack?!I can also run around a corner, kneel, reload, then suddenly keel over which I assume is from the shock of the person who was shooting at me............ Or maybe it is lag.
But these very nervous players who die at the mere sight of an enemy gain courage when I play on a system with 6mpbs speeds.. And tend to kill people heading towards them and everything.

Didn't really have it before and was able to enter a fire-fight with a chance of actually killing the other chap. Seems useless now. Doesn't suit my play style at all either as I like to run and gun and rely on good twitch abilities to rack 'em up.
Only way I can secure a decent score now is to snipe but these new maps don't lend themselves too well to that.

Was BF3 this bad for lag? Not that I give a toss about K/D but it'd be allot higher if there was none of this rubbish.

Absolutely if you haven't got it already, probably my favorite game mode. Unfortunately you can't setup a party for this so it's a case of jumping in your mates games and even then it's a struggle to change teams. Worth a crack though.Jasandjules said:

The map servers/net code are more feck'd up than I thought.Haven't been playing much at all over the past few months, as my patience ran out.
I do wonder though if the players that are benefiting from the lag of others are able to get this benefit every time they log on? Or whether it is random and/or totally dependent on the connection speed to that particular map?
I can't remember a single time when it felt that I had the edge over any other player. I'm in the same boat as many in that one-to-one encounters seem like I am always playing about 2 seconds behind everyone else.
