Your menton of 'other players' suggests this is online or something? I played Battlefield online and got shouted at by children.

Armoured - LMGs - DO NOT PRESTIGE THESE EVER.

CLAN = What you and your mates call your collective selfs. Like a gang really.
Why not prestige LMGs ??

In the old days PHers would normally be using clan tags PHSM or VBRJ

Clan tags is also a great way to decide NOT to stick around in a lobby, 6 people with identical clan tags normally mean they will be on the same team (or boosters) and they will work well together.

One of the best nights on MW the PH crowd all had religious clan tags, God, Alah, Buda etc etc hilarious way to annoy the players we were creaming

Some of the LMGs need the attachments to make them viable weapons. Each to their own I guess but as I am grinding for camo's on them I can't justify the prestige reset. To be honest I can't see the point of any weapon prestige really all you get is it reset and a kill counter/clan tag on it.

I currently use the VBRJ clan tag smile

Part of the fun of online play is annoying other players and hearing them whine/moan/swear down their mics as you kill them.

Love the MG42, have it as 2nd Primary using Gunslinger with either Enfield or SVT-40 as primary weapon

I've definitely lost something in skills since MW2, I think it must be my age laugh

Although opening up some more weapons is helping to narrow the gap a little

Picking out the ones that interest me most, the FG42 buff is just amusing as it's trying to undo the previous nerf, which saw it go from being possibly a smidge OP down to c-tier.

Slower ADS on the Kar98k is a shame. I see it's going from 0.35 to 0.4. I've just got gold camo for the M1903 (so i now have gold for the Lee, M1903 and Kar98, just the Karabin to go for diamond smile). I think the 1903 already has a 0.4 ads time, but it might be 0.45. That slow ADS made it a real PITA to use compared to the Kar98. I suppose overall the change will mean people will have to choose between the damage of the Kar98 or the faster ADS of the Lee, so it's probably for the best.

As for the Combat Shotgun, i think it needed a bigger nerf. The last few times I've played its popularity has gone through the roof and it's not much fun being hit by incendiary rounds time and again. I end up using it myself and become a part of the downward spiral....

quick scoping with the kar is ridiculously easy, even I can do it so it did need the nerf to ADS. Shame as I am a few blood thristys away from Gold on it.

Your right about the combat shotgun, every man and his dog is using it. Not even my trusty shovel can help.

Wish they would stop buggering about with the rifles, just settle on one I like and it gets nerfed.

If they want to nerf stuff nerf ALL the shotguns, they are close quaters weapons, point blank only, not bloody half way across a map

Yeah, I hit a few with it. I suppose i'll miss having a gun that made me feel like a better sniper than i am.

I always find the five kill streaks are the last thing i get. However i have found one near-guaranteed way of getting them. Play War and hope Operation Breakout comes up. Whilst the bridge objective is probably the best known sniper section, the issue is that there's sniping on both sides. I find the best opportunity is the next objective, destroying the ammo supply. When you're on the attacking team, once the bomb has been planted you can sit behind a barrel and snipe anyone who tries to defuse the bomb. You can't be flanked so you can pre-aim and kill anyone trying to defuse. You're almost invulnerable, making it the most surefire 5 kill steak I've found and you're playing (i.e. defending) the objective at the same time. Here's a terrible map of it:

You might just be able to see a feint mark showing the barrel to the left of the green line. The bomb is at the right end of the line, so you can see through the first destroyable wall , over the top of the bomb and out through the far destroyable wall.

Yes, I'd say war has been an excellent addition to the game that will most like likely appear in all CoDs henceforth, much like zombies. Rather than everyone running everywhere on the map, you're making your way from start to finishing by completing 3 or 4 objectives as a team along the way. If you actively play the objective you tend to die a lot, hence the game neither records nor shows your KDR to encourage people to play the objective.

Looking forward to the Resistance update. The new division is pistols based so not really my cup of tea, but I think a lot of people would like it. Some new maps are a welcome addition, in particular the new War map. The only snag with War at the moment is there're only 3 maps in rotation. Resistance will only add another 1, but it's better than none. The trailer is worth watching because fundamentally the idea is that its the French Resistance, with reds, whites and blues all over the place and French uniforms. But yet knowing that that might not play well in some parts of America since the days of Freedom Fries (remember those?), the guy who does all the narration is British. They want it to be French, but not too French.

That's what I did over the weekend. Also got the final one when the tank is near the church.

Hardpoint is good for racking up XP fairly quickly. You can also get a few grenade kills a game chucking a part cooked one in to a hardpoint if you're attacking it

Gave the Resistance update a go this evening. I was too tired to play for long but things i noticed were:

1. You can now see the clan tag / kill counter clearly on your gun.

2. They sorted out that stupid mistake they made in a previous update whereby some of the time the box in the top left of the selection screen was to join a match, the rest of the time it was to go to the headquarters. Now it's always join a match.

3. As suspected, the resistance division isn't for me. I can see why if you're trying to get clips or you're really into stabbing people it would be fun, but as a class to choose if you really want to win i don't see it. I actually thought one of the division abilities was a negative. It scrambles nearby enemy radar. All it meant was that on a number of occasions my radar was scrambled by other players that had already ranked the division up. So I knew someone was near me when otherwise i wouldn't have had a clue. It was particularly noticeable in buildings, when i realised someone was above or below me. I'm guessing it's meant to help you get close to people to stab them, but so far I've found it does the complete opposite and just lets people know you're near.

4. The resistance supply drops seem a bit harder to get than the winter event ones were. The daily challenges for the winter event were simply 'play a match of X'. Whereas the first one today is to get 10 kills in Prop Hunt, which i think would take people a few matches to complete. I only played 1 match and got two 2 kills, being robbed of a third by a teammate. On the upside, somehow i got 40,000XP for seemingly nothing. Ok it's double XP, but still, all i did was kill 2 people and survive 1 round. Not that i'm complaining...
