Had a play with my Rift-S today with the 4070 wow that's a pretty amazing experience !

Hedge hopping in the Cub just a massive improvement from the old 2070S.

Not used it for ages and started to feel a little motion sick so will have to break myself into it again. Looks like the new GPU will breathe a bit of fresh life into my VR-Experience.

Running with everything on Ultra I was getting a few micro stutters and a bit of choppiness when looking left or right so looks like I need to refine the settings in FS / Nvidia.

The PMDG 737 Cockpit is just glorious in VR !

I just wish the Rift had little more resolution but I suppose I cant really complain it only cost me £250 I couldn't really justify replacing it for the amount of time it gets used.

My sim cupboard is getting there now, skirtings done, painted, door clad in pine strips to make it look less barn like.

Still some painting to do, carpet (dg it out, its plenty big enough the piece left over from another room) and working out where to put the other two monitors, might upgrade to a 49 inch Ultra widescreen to make the use of the width. Might actually get a go on Flight Sim before the years out ! Also needs a cabinet, shelving and some stuff on the walls.

Might buy this,

https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/skruvby-cabinet-with-...

Will make a few matching shelves to go above it.

Sat int here for a bit last night messing putting the monitor up, the ventilation works quite well.

Still need a chair, might go to Costco, they had some.

Looking good. Are you going to build a sim or just have some basic controllers and a screen?

My DA62 sim hasnt progressed. I got it pretty much working but then had to take the G1000s out to finish all the controls and wiring and that has become a beast of a job. Should have bought the PCBs and gone that way

Just going to replicate what I had in the house for now, see if I take to it and then maybe revamp, just a Saitek yoke and pedals at the moment, also have a steering wheel and pedals so want to be able to swap to driving sims and back, main thing was to get the room built, and before that the building repaired, new roof etc. Been a lot of work but is coming together now, another week or two should have it ready to use.

Will no doubt spend even more time and money improving it as I go along. Just wanted somewhere I could leave it all set up and not have to mess around to take it apart for other use.

If anyone is interested, the awesome BAE 146 from Just flight is now £40, not sure for how long.

Tempting. I closley follow the MET1 BAE 146 as its based a few miles from me at Cranfield. They are kind enough to post a calendar and regular NOTAMs of their flights so I can position myself in the garden with a coffee in the morning to watch it on its way.

Only problem if I get it in MSFS is I'll want to start building a home sim for it and all those steam gauges will take a lot of work.

I might get that, as I spend some time working on one, well an RJX that doesn’t fly any more but near enough.

The key ring for my cabin is a 146 flap lever.

Did have a go on the full size sim at Woodford.

Just need to finish the room, nearly there !

I used to fly on a 146 loads many years ago. Sure it was MAN-ORK. Used to love the fact it had four engines.

Might be tempted but I get wound up if something isn’t easy to fly!

More or less there now with the sim shed, final bit of painting done, apart from a couple of bits I need to touch in, oh and a carpet, a few pictures and stuff to make it feel more lived in, bit stark and echoey at the moment.

PC did not want to display a picture, over an hour of different cable, sockets, reseating stuff, different monitors etc etc and then it fired up and am using it now. Just got it on the desk for now on its side with no side on, only one monitor and now sound but the network seems pretty good, its on a homeplug from the house.

69.7 Mbps download

17.8 Mbps upload

Which is plenty, and no worse then in the house.

Bought a little portable monitor for maps, only £70, seems pretty good and fits nicely under the main one.

Looking really good, you've gone pretty authentic with that black propeller above the monitor. smile

Turns it on full power when flying a Tiger Moth for the authentic wind in your hair experience.

Anyone tried the A2A Comanche ? I might treat myself at the weekend.

It’s a tossup between that and the DCS F15E

I'm a total philistine, I turn off the engines and head for the ground at 90 degrees rather than attempting to land, but even I could tell the Comanche was next level.

There'll be details you'll still be unearthing weeks down the line.

That looks rather nice.

I managed to get my PC to turn on a couple of weeks ago. Flight from DSA for old times!

Now the bloody thing has crapped out again...

What do you guys use for controls, I have the Saitek yoke and pedals but my main issue is all the minor controls and finding the right key in time when needing to be quick.

Thrustmaster pedals and warthog hotas I did consider the Thrustmaster yoke but changing from stick to yoke would be a pain.

Also use a Rift S and headtracking when not using VR.

Thrustmaster Hotas X stick and throttle, TrackIR for head tracking and I use a 32 button Stream Deck for quick access to often used systems with it's programmable LCD buttons.

I have the Airbus replica controls.
There's also Voice Attack that I really need to set up.
I am looking at getting a USB button box from eBay too
