I tell you what, if you want to ensure good matchmaking get a mission started that needs you to do something to higher tiers than you - guaranteed top tier games 75% of the time
A lot of the Twitch streamers resorted to deliberate fail platoons in order to do those missions.Yeah, I can see why. It does seem uncanny the amount of times a mission is simply impossible due to the matchmaker. I can't ever remember having such a high mix of top tier game before starting this tier+1 mission.
The only saving grace is that I've been trying to do it in the M4 Derp and Cromwell, tanks which are an absolute hoot when they are top tier

I recently changed to running the derp on the M4 after a couple of hundred games without it (Mainly because I needed to set a higher tier on fire - I found an obliging Nashorn and derped him in the face). It's superior in every amusing way and you don't really need gold. Also running the Sherman 3 in derp config now.The only saving grace is that I've been trying to do it in the M4 Derp and Cromwell, tanks which are an absolute hoot when they are top tier
A couple of master tankers in the E75 (1st one) and IS8 last night added to a satisfying evening of heavy tank brutality. The E75 has grown on me.
Still struggling with the arty splash one - roll on higher tier US skypigs.
Bought a KV4 and running it stock unashamedly spamming APCR with the 122mm. It's rubbish yet I think I like it.
Is this a mission for causing two fires in one battle? It's not an achievement on the Xbox game to cause 2 fires in one match, it seems pretty RNG-based. I know I can up my chances in a few ways, but other than gamerscore there isn't a specific reward for completing the achievement, it will come with time, as I'll be playing this game forever tbh.
If I really wanted to force it, I'd just play my Chi-Nu Kai and keep shooting at KV-1s, they go up like tinderboxes and the CNK can pen them absolutely no problem. The French lefh18B2 artillery is great for it too, there seem to be plenty of flammable tanks at those mid tiers.
I think one of the suggestions above was to run the M4 with the derp, which is a great shout. Not only is it great for starting fires, it's a very strong tank at it's tier, and excellent fun also.
EDIT: It looks like WG have done us a cool April Fools, they put a load of media out yesterday about lunar combat and a special Chaffee variant designed for combat on the moon. Everyone had a right old lol, but it seems that we are getting a lunar battle mode where everyone will drive modified Chaffees that shoot lasers, on a special moon map with 1/6th of the normal gravity. This sounds like it could be a laugh, I'll report back on this at the weekend after I've had a go of it, it isn't live yet.

The lunar combat mode is great fun. The Sand River geography has been remodeled as "Moon River", with new architecture built on it, and the undulations ramped right up. The special Chaffees sport a fetching white and orange paintjob, with laser cannon autoloaders that shoot 200rpm and roload their 30 round magazines in 3 seconds. With 1/6th gravity, 7 players per team and frickin lasers, combat is fast, furious and not really the point of the endeavour; there is no experience, no silver lost or gained, it's just for a laugh.
Still, the moon map looks amazing, right down planet Earth looming in the sky above, Chaffees with 6000hp engines flying through the air and laser beams shooting all over the map. We have been instructed not to sell the Lunar Chaffees, as they will give no silver and will not create a garage slot when sold. After this weekend they'll turn the lunar mode off, but I think they'll probably reactivate it on special occasions. At the very least, the Lunar Chaffee will make a cool garage ornament.

XBOX only?
Yeah. The PC version looks to have receive a suitcase artillery strike for April Fools / Easter. The moon combat mode looked like a hoax from WG, complete with renders, but then they revealed it was real and we'd get to play it. It was a pretty well-kept secret, I'm on the Supertest team, and we didn't know anything about it.I think it is XBOX only, I hope it's not so you guys on PC can play it. Blowing up tanks whilst doing a 180 in mid air is great fun and despite there being no gains or losses xp or silver. We still saw people camping haha. As it's only here for the weekend it makes much more sense to fly around firing the frickin' lasers!
The misery of the IS-8 is unending. I thought the upgraded turret would give it some better armour, but it still seems pretty soft and easy to penetrate for a lot of tanks. The 100hp boost and additional 20m viewing range is a nice, but with only the gun to go I'm not massively looking forward to the grind to the IS-7. The gun actually looks pretty good - the .37 accuracy in particular is nice for a Russian 122mm gun, and the penetration boost will be welcome, but as I've thought since I bought this thing, the problem with this tank isn't the gun anyway.
I've been getting back in the Conqueror Fun Carriage this weekend, what a blast I have in this thing (no pun intended). My first shot on a Westield standard battle the other night hit a Tortoise on the front, somehow penetrated anyway and killed him, it was satisfying to see that big "2000" flash up next his charred wreckage.

Never got one of these before . Double bonus in that it secured a mission that has been a pain for the last couple sessions (killing 2 arty in an spg). Was beginning to give up on it, then boom, b.o.g.o.f
One of the original achievements for WOT when it released on the Xbox was to get a Bombardier, I've still not done it. I've come close a few times in the CGC, but it continues to elude me. Some posters on the Xbox forum have managed it with the KV-2!Edited by bstb3 on Monday 6th April 01:04
Speaking of KV-2s, I re-purchased one this evening, quickly ran the crew through the premiums to get them back to 100% and then start wrecking st with that 152mm derp cannon, what a machine. I absolutely hated this thing first time I owned it, but now I love it. I'm in no rush to get past it, I will probably research and buy an S-51 off the back of this thing, but I really only own it for fun and KV-2 platoons. It is great catching the side of a VK36.01H and sending them back to the garage with a single shell.
I haven't actually tried any of the Cruiser tanks, but I probably will at some point, they're the bane of my bloody life in just about all of my low tier stuff.
I forgot to mention, I got my Japanese Technical Expert medal for killing one of every tech tree Japanese tank the other day, funnily enough the last one I had to kill was an STA-1, which I was sure I'd killed loads of, but apparently not. One of the very first Jap tanks I killed, and probably the rarest, was an STB-1 on the day the line went live, it was an one-shot with the CGC, on an STB-1 who was brawling in the top left-hand corner of Ensk. Once I've finished the line and got my STB-1, I'm going to unlock the Japanese light tanks at tiers 2,3 and 4 so I can scoop the medal for researching every Japanese tank too.
