I do the daily online (or should I say weekly) races a lot but has anybody joined a random online race and had success? I cant seem to find a decent race, do they have prize money?
I am still getting promoted/relegated between C/S and D/S. I am clearly not fast enough to complete in C/S but I win the odd D/S. I also find the C/S dirty as I am completing with C/C,C/D etc. In the D level races its D/S and D/A and its mostly clean.
Edited to add, I am on a controller. Do any of the fast guys use a pad?

Once you get into c and higher you be against wheel and pedals combo players which imo gt7 works better with. Online race lobbies can be enjoyable but have to spend a while and.juat get lucky joining a good lobby.I am still getting promoted/relegated between C/S and D/S. Actually had some good daily races earlier on the Red Bull ring, connections were really stable and some nice clean racing for a change.
Also been trying to get the No.1 spot on a few of the licenses that I’m fairly competitive on, just can’t quite manage it
Same had 2 enjoyable races even won the one after a 10 minute load time and only 6 players left but was a really close clean battle. Tried daily race a that was interesting need more practice on that one. Also been trying to get the No.1 spot on a few of the licenses that I’m fairly competitive on, just can’t quite manage it

Like yourself only ever going to use a pad (as no room for rig/wheel, etc). Sat in C/S for most of the while, went up to B/S back to C/S, then now been at B/S for some time. Mainly mid to end of the pack - although racing is mainly clean. Of 135 races, I have 3 wins, 2 poles, and 2 fastest laps... That's it..!!! I am finding I'm generally struggling with the consistency of the 'turn-in' with the pad whilst braking, as I can't 'feel' the car. I am still getting promoted/relegated between C/S and D/S. It's a shame there isn't an option to race against others just using a pad, as I'm sure there is a clear advantage with a wheel/pedals - that I now seem to be racing...?

Do you have ABS turned on? I think that's been the biggest difference for me when I changed that from off to default, admittedly that was on GT Sport but the same applies here and the fastest do use it. Can just slam that on in the braking zones and it will do the rest.

That is seriously impressive. Maybe it's just me that finds it amazing that one of our own is P2 in the world even if it's only on a few licences. I have tried to get somewhere up there and I have no chance.Norbury90 said:

Just a bit of a fun when I can’t be bothered to do any proper races as they are quick to do. Also interesting seeing what times I can get using a pad as I’m assuming a lot of the top times are set using a wheel setup.ferrisbueller said:
I need a bit more time on the Tsukuba one, had a wobble on my best run. Did a bit better on the NSX.
I tip my hat to you sir, you’ve smashed that one and by some margin!Edited by ferrisbueller on Tuesday 7th June 20:38

In fairness, the quick folk aren't spending their time pursuing those times. It's definitely possible to go a chunk faster on that NSX test.
There’s definitely a decent amount of the quick guys going for the top times on licenses as well, some are obsessed with it. However I am sure that I’d never even get close to them in a race, just relentless pace and consistency. Anyway, I’ve managed to nab the top spot on one them for the time being so now I’m doing a Rosberg and retiring

In the days of GT4 there was a web site for license test times called gold junkies. Anyway, I’ve managed to nab the top spot on one them for the time being so now I’m doing a Rosberg and retiring
Holl01 on the ranking above is Dan Holland… an Aussie who’s had multiple appearances at GT Academy finals… he’s always been one of the quickest around for time trials… I was racing him in GTPlant organised events 15 years ago.
