The tyre that appears on the leaderboard when they pit is the one that they are currently on. You don't see what they are changing on to, which is why it appears backwards a lot of the time.

I'm guessing that based on the fact that that's how it works for your own tyres when you enter the pit lane, so I assume it's the same...
Wat? Not disputing that's what happens, but if so it's beyond retarded. So you can tell what tyres they were previously on, but not currently on :/ Not just useless but very misleading.
Yep. Someone mentioned earlier in the thread that he'd had the AI doing the opposite of what was expected, and I was going to comment the same back then, but thought maybe I'd just got it wrong, so paid extra attention to it when I did a LM30 race and yep, your current tyre is shown whilst you're in the pits, so I assume it's the same for the AI (and would make sense, I haven't bothered using photo mode to confirm the tyre change etc. but it would be an easy thing to check...)

As I say the tyres you're visually putting on are also the same as what you currently have on, so as a total guess, I'm willing to take a punt that the actual tyre change happens instantaneously as you retake control after the 'leaving the pit box' animation (notice how there's zero pit wheelspin even if you put on slicks in a monsoon so the whole pit animation is just that, an animation, I don't think there's any actual car physics happening, would be curious to see if a slow car also accelerates up to pit lane speed limit just as quick as a fast one too scratchchin)

It's only misleading if you choose to make judgements off the AI, the track conditions are there in front of you along with a weather forecast. It's pretty easy to make tyre choices on this game.
It categorically *is* misleading if that's the tyres the AI is coming off (or remaining on), and not changing onto. My point was this little bit of UI is both useless and broken.

You could very very briefly see what tyre they had changed to but I only noticed it a couple of times, I don't know if this was a glitch that has been fixed and it was definitely before the 1.15 update. I did a race at the Spa WTC 800 and the leader pitted with racing medium tyres. It started to rain where I was on the track (Blanchimont) so I was interested to see what he changed to and it flashed to racing soft then went off the screen on his pit exit as it normally does.

I think they should allow you to see what they switched to as in normal races your pit crew would communicate what a rival driver has changed to.

Might have been that race I had at Spa where the Ferrari Driver pitted when it was still dry to what must have been at least inters before the rain came, not because I saw that's what he changed to, but because of how fast he was when the rain came down

I think there may be some logic there that that rain is highly likely to, or always does happen in the middle of the race (I haven't driven the Spa race to see if there is a dry race there) so for some of them they do a pit that is needed (because maybe they need to due to low fuel) but because of the time in the race they go on inters or wets regardless.

Certainly most of the time though even when it's already wet enough and going to be be raining for some time they go straight back on slicks, because they end up spinning all over the place or slowing right down. This is certainly true of the Le Mans race. Then all the slower cars pit to the right tyre and do a lot better (once they've smashed their way through the slow cars)

It is silly, it's good for making money and doing the challenges laugh (e.g. the MX5 race as mentioned above) but takes away from the realism aspect somewhat

Agree though, would be nice if you could see what they're changing to, rather than what they were on

Can't say I am happy with this weeks online Sport races. I just cant seem to race at Suzuka, I dont know what it is about that track but I cant seem to get it to flow. Then there is Deep Forest race way which I usually enjoy but they have made it reverse, I am reluctant to race that as I know the the track in the normal direction and I don't want to lose that by racing it in reverse. Oh well Ill have a weekend off it and see what Monday brings.

WTC600 at Tokyo Expressway - is this extremely hard or what?

Any tips on car/setup for this race?

So doing the manufactures series ATM and it's almost impossible to do anything in gr4 cars if you don't have 4wd in the top lobbies. How can bop been in place when the cars are clearly not balanced at least allow us to tune gearing and suspension so the weaker cars can do something over just lossing loads of time out of corners and on straights. Using the genesis was 5-10mph slower down the straights than the 4wd cars plus worse out of corners. Done 3 races gave up on the last one after being taken off and no chance of cat Hong back up.
Also have to do a pit stop but with pretty much zero tyre wear or fuel useage what is the point of that.

If they trying to be a big thing in eSports side of things they are failing ATM on that compared to other racing games.

At least connection seemed to be good for this week on sport mode the lobbies though very poor ATM.

I've got AC and ACC on PC. Both are equally as flawed as GT7, probably moreso.

Another update is coming, with what looks like the Escudo! Hopefully we get Pikes Peak as a track also then.

The current updates are so boring, no one cares about a couple of new cars being dropped every so often and other meaningless ‘fixes’.

Fix the lobbies, fix the BOP, fix the automated roulette system, allow us to sell cars etc etc.

Add some fun new missions, endurance races, perhaps bring back some of the classic tracks?

Currently having a break from this and jumping on a couple of other games, also F1 22 in a couple of weeks.

Last major update gave us 3 pointless cars and some menus. Hopefully this one brings a bit more. I'm likely to be back in GTA5 and Riders Republic again though soon at this rate. Not even been on the PS4 at all since last weekend repeating the same races to grind cash and get crap rewards is a bit deflating after so long. It'd be nice if they have us the option just to buy engines fir engine swaps, I'd be more inclined to grind for cash then

Lots of people annoyed on Reddit (what's new huh), now further fuelled by Gallo (current GT world champion) announcing on Twitter he's not playing until they fix the game properly.

TBF you can see why people are pissed. The SP is shockingly short and the MP is a disgrace. 3 races a week? 3 races a week. That when GT Sport was new is shocking. In 2022 it’s a crime.

Yup, loads of people pissed with the penalty system too. Waiting so long for a race and then getting punted off the track fighting for the lead and then getting penalised for the privilege too. Totally understandable why those who have competed the main parts of the game are switching off.

That's a big notice surly to pd with Gallo saying that. I know a few of the full time streamers are trying to use their platform to force for changes.
From what I'm seeing it's not pleasing the online crowd or the single player crowd ATM.

The penalty system is one of the biggest piss takes of all, it was a shambles in GT Sport and no effort has been made to fix it at all since the day that game came out.

I've never seen any GT game that's had such a U turn by players in such a short amount of time. We haven't even been given everything that was shown in the game previews content wise so it's not like when that does arrive it's new content, it's old content they just didn't unlock on the games release

Yeah 100% concur with all of this, my play time has dropped off a cliff, frustrated at what should be simple things to fix

Pretty ridiculous I've still not won an engine in all this time - in fact I've not even seen an engine on the roulette wheel for weeks. Just let me buy them ffs.
