I just hope Fallout 5 comes out as soon as the PS5 is launched
I think Bethesda are prioritising Starfield and Elder Scrolls 6 over Fallout 5. So you've probably got a few more years wait. It just feels like Bethesda have run out of ideas. Maybe it would be best to let it lie now.

We all know that ES6 is going to be a train crash though right ?
Imagine the outrage! It has been almost 10 years since Skyrim, probably will be by the time ES6 is out. I think Fallout would benefit from a break, maybe not 10 years but at least 5, 7 feels about right. Gives them plenty of time to focus on other projects, then start a long development cycle.
As I mentioned earlier I won't be buying any Elder Scrolls or Fallout game again until it's been reviewed by the gaming community. This is in sharp contrast to my pre ordering every game in the two series as soon as announced. That Todd fellow has taken the p*ss for far too long and I'm sure Bethesda are going to pay for their sheer contempt towards gamers. I still think I dodged the bullet by not wanting Fallout 76.

This has been discussed on some of the various Fallout groups and pointed out that, there is only one video that seems to show this actually happening so far.I picked up 76 again after looking into Wastelanders update. I haven't played since March last year and missed the Wild Appalachia update. To be honest i'm really impressed. I stopped playing because the last update before i quite made it such a buggy mess.
I've experienced very few issues in quite a few hours of play. Issues i have experienced aren't unique to Fallout 76 and the ones i have aren't really that bad. Accept of course taking down a Level 80 scorch beast with a laser Gatling only for it to burn up and the ash pile completely fall off the face of the map.
I've also dug back into it since Wastelanders came out, and despite some bugs raising their heads, it's definitely a lot more enjoyable, and I really like some of the characters they've put in (Weasel, for example), and there's a few references to the other games floating around, such as Mr House from New Vegas, and Eddie Winter from FO4.
I've also noticed there's a number of things where if you've got through a chunk of the game and background lore previously, you get some dialogue options and references that maybe you don't otherwise - for example, asking Duchess if she's the same Duchess you learn about in Welch, or being able to use the position of being a US General earned previously to circumvent a "military use only" conversation.

I keep meaning to keep going with the main quest so i can start earning the insane amount of bullion i will need for the Secret Service armor and some of the new weapons but i keep getting distracted by quests from the previous update to try and get items like the Fixer and a backpack.I've also noticed there's a number of things where if you've got through a chunk of the game and background lore previously, you get some dialogue options and references that maybe you don't otherwise - for example, asking Duchess if she's the same Duchess you learn about in Welch, or being able to use the position of being a US General earned previously to circumvent a "military use only" conversation.
It is all online. I basically play it as a single player experience and it's good fun (or at least it is now since the Wastelanders update). I have teamed up on a couple of occasions for random events but it's more, we're all shooting the same sorts of things than a true teaming up. You can set yourself as essentially impervious so you're not going to get ttted by a higher level in un-asked for PVP (unless you shoot them of course)!

Sorry for stupid questions! Is this worth buying for a single player experience? Is it all online? I love the fallout universe but was put off this one due to the bad press.
Cheers!
You can play solo, there is perk cards that from part of the leveling up system geared towards solo play (and ones for taem play).Cheers!
Only 25 people share the same world as you at a time, there's a number of repeatable events that pop up across the map that everyone can join and you work together. Some of these you can do fairly easy solo, others are absolutley impossible to do on your own but the rewards are normally enough that you always get a good amount of people join as soon as it appears.
A few people try and ruin it, but the majority of people are nice and there's more than a few high level players who will regularly drop items at spots they know low level players will find them.
I’ve reinstalled F76 to see what the wastelander update is all about.
After a quick game it feels much less buggy and enjoyed the interactions with NPC’s so far.
I got to level 20 before I gave up on the original. I want to like it as I’ve been a fan of the fallout games for years. Fingers crossed.

Thanks mate, looks like I'll be picking this up at some point to add to the pile of games I'm still waiting to play! Anyone still playing this? The recent Steel Dawn update has really pushed the game into feeling like a proper Fallout.
Less punitive survival mechanics. The BoS wandering around the map and another fully populated area to explore. There also seems to be more random NPCs wandering around outside of the ones aligned with either Crater or Foundation.
I had slowed down with it until recently but I've been playing every day for the last week.
Also the Shelter camp building is fun. It's basically a less complicated version of the vault building you could do in FO4. Lets you do some interesting things with your camp. Mines looks mostly derelict from the surface with just the hatch down to my shelter in a bunker and some planted crops.

I got quite burnt out on 76 just as it dropped. I played the first two missions but there's just something off about it that I didn't like and haven't picked up again. Probably go back to it after a few more weeks if having a break on other stuff. Have a legacy collection to build! Less punitive survival mechanics.
