My first race was one of my best ever, I took it easy at the start and gradually picked off cars as they spun off in front of me. I ran as high as 6th, but I didn't battle very hard when faster cars caught me which put me down to 8th. My tyres wore down pretty quickly, but I adjusted and managed to then set my fastest lap of the race! Sadly this totally ruined them and I spent the rest of the race making sure I kept it on track although I was quite close to 7th by the end.smile

The second race fell apart, firstly I forgot to put my setup back on before the start so other than fuel it had reverted to standard. Then as I went to pass a slow starting blue car (not sure who) in front of me off the line, I collided with Dobbo, who I hadn't realised was alongside me and I shot into the wall. By the time I got out, everyone was gone, although I got back up with some of the field as I came across the second crash after the first corner. I then messed up and spun again at the back chicane and spent the rest of the race trying to keep the car on track with my crap setup. I did managed to repass a couple of cars though.

A much better weekend than the last couple (especially race 1 smile ) but I've still got lots of room for Improvement. I had a practice at Rockingham afterwards and got a best of a 1:23.666 but I'm sure I can find quite a bit more time from that.

Right, good race this week

After a few bad experiences at Cadwell where I got stuck in the screnery and Mallory which I find a tedious track, I wasn't looking forward to Snetterton as I'm generally slow here. To my joy I was within a few tenths of the mid field, and had some great racing in both races driving

Could someone explain how I ended up a lap don on race 2 though confused

I've checked my replay and crossed the finish line 5th about a couple of seconds behind Altrezia, however once over the line my position dropped as each following car passed over the line cry

I only went fully over the curbs of the finial chicane once on the finial lap here:

And I didn't see any messages stating I'd cut the track.

After studying the replay I can only think my connection flaked as I crossed the line, as Altrezia lagged on the main straight for a couple of seconds as I crossed the line:

Before the line:

After the line:

Altrezia has now warped further down the straight, even though I was flat out.

I think if you were DQ then it would say at the bottom of the screen after you finished,

Maybe MJ can ammend the results as that looks like 5th place to me.

I think there was some lag at the start of race two s well. Marc says he was avoiding a slower car, but I dont see one on my replay.. maybe it was a ghost car. That said I didnt experience any lag at all in either race.

Sorry I didn't make the Tuscans last night, my PC froze again just after the second race.

Not a good showing for me in race one, I managed to find myself upside down at turn two in lap two, and rejoined dead last. Finally caught up with Ridds only to throw it off at turn two again, after that I just tried to stay clean.

Race two I got a bad start and noticed Marc coming along side me, then he suddenly veered into me taking us both out - but he came off way worse than me. I then watched a massive smash in turn one and then settled down for the race, I was catching MJ at the end but never really got to race anyone properly.

I think one of my biggest problems is that I always concede the line and position rather than risk taking someone out - being defensive is OK but being a wimp just costs me points.

Certainly does! I can't wait to see it on my new PC next weekend.

He was 5th but it wasn't a DQ it showed up as a DNF because it didn't register him crossing the line after which he stopped like we all did and it didn't think he completed the race.

Just a glitch in the matrix.

Tried to modify the results file, but I can not get it to work, too many bits interlink, so it's not just a matter of changing final positions - your missing the last lap so for some reason it did not record you as finishing. Tried adding lap data in and total lap times, changing positioning for you and those in 6th to 10th but it did not work - took me a while to restore and delete off the new info in the results folder....

Sorry, maybe someone else with better xml abilities may be able to sort it out ?

Results, albeit slightly wrong are now updated.

Thanks for trying thumbup

I could send you my files as I think I'm on them, if that doesn't work then don't worry, it not like I'm challenging for the title or anything.

I tried changing the setup last night for Rockingham practice. Instead of a wing/gear tweak actually changing tyre pressure, putting it up for more straight line speed, changing bump and rebound settings for faster response to chassis roll and changing the toe in to get the grip back I lost in putting the tyre pressures up.

Did a few laps beat the benchmark times I had set with the default setup, I thought woo, cracked it. Then went back out with the default setup and went faster.

I think either I can drive around car setup changes or it doesn't do a lot on these cars in the first place.

This is exactly what happens to me.

I change the setup and I keep going a little faster with each change. Go back to the default and im just as quick.

What times are you doing at rockingham. I did a few laps and my best was 1.22.xx but im sure you can go much quicker than that biggrin

I'm good to you lot huh?

Wasn't even racing and having fun on Sunday evening (instead I was fighting a losing battle to keep Gatwick Airport open)

And I still whack a video together for you... Cheers to Mark for sending the VCR files over. Quite enjoyed watching them.

No idea why but Youtube really doesn't like the format I've saved it in. Here is the link:

I'll put a further link up later for the full resolution download for anybody that wants. (would put it onto my website but not sure the bandwidth would hold up)

Got bored this evening and had another run at Rockingham, then did so many low 1m20s laps including being up by as much as 0.4s on a 1m20.1s best and losing the time in the final short sector just made me more determined to not stop until I did a 1m19s. Then on lap 38.
