Seems to be more team based now. Which is a shame since I've no friends to play with since they all have Xboxs frown
Feel free to add me, psn same as here, add PH as your tags, and you'll soon meet others.

Don’t worry they have changed the controls from BF3, and I think the PS3 version so we are all learning. Personally I am struggling most with spotting (so focused on keeping away from that button that I then don't hit it when I should) and equipment usage - took me four tries before I revived my first person last night.

I am ashamed to say I have yet to play Rush, in BF3 it was my favourite mode, so that is what I will be doing this evening….
Some maps are quite badly balanced for rush, at least thats what I found.
Few mates I play with from work were loving rush in BF3, but when we tried rush in BF4 they all said 'fk this, lets go back to conquest'biggrin
Have to agree with some of that, while I do really enjoy Rush mode, a couple of the maps are almost impossible to win as attackers, especially on a full server. For instance on Operation Locker it is virtually impossible to get to the second set of mcoms due to the 32 players just sitting in front of the only two possible choke points.

In battlelog you can add PH in front of your name, that way everyone knows you are one of us! Can't remember exactly how but if you can't work it out shout.

Have to say found my first Rush session very good.

China Rising... Liking the Dragon valley map, the rest i spend 90% of my time getting killed at 500m by a prat wielding an mp7... Only in battlefield.... Sure as much as i try I'm seriously struggling to actually like this game atm.

If you want to lone wolf, probably better to play TDM or Domination. Because they're limited to 20 players it's quite stable, not had any crashes playing either mode.

OK dumb question, is China Rising playable off line or is it online only? I downloaded the patch last Friday and the 3.8mb file Saturday with the code in the box yet there are no other options shown playing in campaign mode. Ive not bought Premium yet and still have the 14 day trial to try once more confident.

Still need more practice, another question - in the aircraft hanger I came face to face with a soldier, too close to shoot but was totally flummoxed at what to do. So subsequently got killed. Must have been quite funny to watch as my fingers went into a complete frenzy trying to figure out how to punch or possibly stab! wouldnt have been so bad if it wasnt the fact I was nearly through that section!

Seriously having to set myself time limits to play, too engrossing by far and only had 1 crash which was after I was killed anyway as had been saved previously.

It's online only, and click the right stick in to swing your knife.

Played a bit of Rush last night and it does seem to play very differently to BF3 - seems you can make it to the first set of MCOMs before the defenders in some cases if you use a vehicle?

On the map with the rolling waves and destroyed aircraft carrier as an attacker you can absolutely dominate using the attack boat with the larger cannon shells, keeping a bit of distance and using zoom - defenders on the carrier have very little cover, few are engineers and you're constantly moving due to the waves. You can just rip them to pieces from range. Great when you're the one doing the owning, not so great if you're trying to defend.

There seem to be a lot of snipers etc staying way back from the action when either attacking or defending and just trying to maintain a decent KDR though - not sure why when it's 3,000 XP pts for a Rush win which is the equivalent of 30 kills worth of XP?

For future reference, do XP boost perks work during double XP events - i.e. will I get 200% boost if I use a 100% boost during double XP?

Let you into a little secret - there is an RHIB the defenders can use. Take it, and use the minigun on the front........... The big boat seems to disintegrate relatively well.....

Nice one, I'll bear that in mind next time. smile

Just thought I'd point out to anyone that didn't realise, you can repair the boat whilst you're inside it if you use the spare (non-gunner) seat and point your repair torch at either the railing of the motor housing. You get points for repairing even if you're the only person in the boat!biggrin

Thats exactly how it works. For maximum benefit get yourself near a service star on a few classes/guns, activate the boost then go into a Obliteration game. These tend to go on for a while meaning you can rack up most of your service stars, getting a 200% boost on each.

Nice one Karl, cheers.

Thinking about it, I suspect the XP is not all that important in BF4 - I'm at Level 44 in about 40 hours of play time and there are only 100 levels in total, so I suspect Level 100 will roll around much quicker than it did in BF3. There seem to already be plenty of people in the high 50s/low 60s.

Seems it's likely to change minute to minute, as someone on the PS4 thread posted - best just keeping an eye on Hotukdeals.com, that way you can see whether it's a good deal plus get feedback on the retailer from people who have bought from them before (via their comments against the deal).

Have just managed to download China Rising. Tried the jets in Air superiority and have discovered that i cannot fly for s**t. The controls are just annoying. I wish you could map the buttons to your own requirements. Hopefully i will be in a good team and they can carry me until i get the hang of it. Yes i know there is a Test range but its not the same. I can hit the targets ok on that, got plenty of time see.
