I've just measured my IPD at a shade over 66mm, which seems to rule out the latest Oculus Rift
66 is a pretty good range to be in. Most 'software solutions' should cover that. The Rift S is physically fixed but should be able to compensate for that size.

I'm 72 which discounts anything that doesn't have physical adjustment and quite a few of those too.

Anyone else thinking about trying it out on Xbox?
Yes, I am.

But I know nothing of computer games, flight sims or anything else games or console related. However the MS flight sim looks great fun and I am seriously tempted. It would have to be the Xbox as I don't have a PC - only Macs.

These days Macs are PCs, just not very good ones.

Apparantly MDL based planes for FSX/P3D can be flown in "legacy mode" , just missing some functionality. Hopefully I can use some of the better payware I have accumulated over the years

ETA Links (hopefully !) fixed

Lots of developers. Most of them.

UK2000 who produce a lot of the UK airport scenery for instance...

PMDG with 737, 747 and 777 etc.

Lots more have said can't say anything due to NDA, which says something anyway...

Quite a few third party things coming through now - https://orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/198113-first-p...

I wonder how this impacts the developer's own future hand crafting. Do they not bother or do they usurp third parties?

All previous MS flight Sims have provided just a base for Devs to add on to.
The OrbX stuff looks great, and very good value. I have tons of their XP11/P3D land areas, but no airports,so can't get the discount, but it's cheap enough.

Lots going on and deeply impressive, although some frame rate loss/hesitation at times?

Just shaping my PC purchase thoughts for this so it is useful intel.

Presume this is multi core friendly unlike X-Plane?

Yes. I’ve noticed the jerks on You Tube videos. I watched a video that cycled through detail levels, and curiously they were as present on ‘low’ as they were on ‘high’. The guy’s PC was top spec and between jerks, even ‘high’ was smooth.

There's no indication of there being a proper pre install yet. It would be nice but maybe they're not feeling generous.

What you download now is 10-20mb.
