Forza Motorsport 7
Discussion
Downloaded it last night and had a couple of hours with the controller. I’ll move the Xbox back upstairs tonight and I’ll try it with my wheel.
Any tips for someone starting off on this game? I’m not really interested in online racing plus I haven’t updated my Xbox live account!
I’d like to set up some offline multi class races with prototypes and gt’s. I couldn’t get my head around how to do that when I looked last night.

FM7 helping pass the time at home these days! I play at a basic level (automatic, steer left button, steer right button, accelerate button, brake button and that's basically it) and currently not choosing anything other than the Ferrari F333 or the BMW Z4 GTE in freeplay mode. One day I'll get round to mods and career mode and stuff, but I'm finding freeplay too much fun for now.
Depends on what you want to acheive with it i guess.
I did the career mode and am now doing long races to build up credits but each time i change something, difficulty level, braking line only etc etc.
Ultimately i'll get a steering wheel/pedals/shifter set up and then i can really start changing things up but for now, this makes up for the fact i no longer have my own car and is escapism.

We used to run this on PH https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
Is it worth putting something together in FM7? Anyone up for it?

I've downloaded this off the Xbox One store last night, the ultimate edition so I now have everything. Played four hours last night, knocks seven bells out of PC2, which I've deleted from the hard drive. A bonus is the Xbox remembered my save data so I've got a few credits and cars already.
Loving it, it's so pretty.
Like most racing games like this, I don't really enjoy the fast cars, much rather Chuck around something like the above.

First trailer for the next FM game on Series X
It might just be called Forza Motorsport, there's no mention of 8.
The same video on twitter says it has raytracing, and is early development, so it may not be a launch title. https://twitter.com/ForzaMotorsport/status/1286335...

I'm hoping they take the chance to do something pretty radical, not just the same as 7 but with prettier graphics. Ever since the original the only things that have really changed in gameplay terms are rewind from FM3 and weather from FM6. Perhaps something like a proper career mode, or a track editor.
Not sure i'll be going for the X over what i have at the moment (S with F7, Project Cars 2) - that video doesnt really leap out at me as there is not much actual gameplay footage.
Did i hear right that your might be able to "rent" and the latest xbox from microsoft along with a monthly game subscription? so you dont actually own the console?

You'll own the console at the end of the 24 month agreement, it's called all access you get the console, games pass ultimate and live sub for a monthly fee after which the console is yours. FM7 owners, is the multiplayer any good. I am a new xbox one owner, used to spend hours on FM4 (I think, or 3) on xbox360 with PHers. Have FH4 but prefer the circuit vibes more than whatever FH is supposed to be. So I guess what I'm asking is - the game is a bit old now, are people still playing it and is there a good community? ]
Or perhaps just hang on for FM 8.

I've just bought this, the last forza I had was 3! Dusted off the 360 wheel, bought a drivehub adapter, and off we go.
The rain effects I think are amazing - puddles form which drag you off, and a drying line forms as cars lap, really well done.
Not feeling the divisions thing/homologation so much, though I see where they're coming from, and it does make it easy to drop into a multiplayer game and have a competitive car without spending weeks building one. Multiplayer seems generally ok, still a bit of barging going on. Had a brief look into the race regulations lobbies last night, they seem cleaner but with fewer players and all seemed to be with stupid-fast cars, but will definitely try that out a bit more.
Loving the historic stuff. Capris, escorts, prewar alfas, autounion and buggatis, 60s GP cars, all fab. And the driving feels really good.
It throws a lot of stuff at you from the off, with all the different categories and scores and tiers and things, but it's starting to make sense.

For people wanting to buy FM7 it is a good game for what it is. Not very good on a wheel because it was designed for a controller. You always get black screens when loading into stuff. Terain in tracks won't always load to best quality. Other than that it is goood. Hopefully the new FM game which would be the last in the series won't be as bad as FM7 because they rushed FM7 at the end for Xbox launch day.
Fired up fm7 again recently, and have solely gone for the endurance GT lobby online.
Its any car from the forza Gt range of cars, which is like le mans/ GT type stuff. Max PI of 835. No 1000hp supercars that can't go round corners.
Longer races, 20-30 minutes, mandatory pit stop, full damage and tyre wear. Makes for some great racing.
Still the odd cock socket who ploughs into everyone at first corner because their parents did a st job of raising them, but on the whole a much better racing experience, and I've tuned the porsche RSR into a competitive machine.
I really hope they have something similar in the new one
