Loving this Sophy! Be nice if they can implement some 1+ hour endurance races with it!

Quite disappointed the touring car 900 doesn’t have an endurance event but I hold out hope for future!

Haven't tried the new update yet. Is Sophy as good/fast as previously? And does it still use a professional foul if you are ahead of it?

Anyone using bass shakers? They're excellent, especially with the VR2

The Sophy grids are based on the unmodified version of whatever car you're in.

This is actually great, as it means the grids change for the same event, so it's a lot more replayable!

You're also largely in charge of your own difficulty, if the car is standard, then it's fairly tough although much easier than it was. I took a showroom fresh LFA to Deep Forest and had a great time, 2nd 4 times and 1st once (by 0.010).

I tried it again in a McLaren F1 GTR, I'd put it on racing mediums and thought I was fairly competitive, managed to squeeze out a win on the 2nd or 3rd attempt, then checking the replay realised the AI were on Hards... getmecoat

Compared to the previous trial though, it's definitely more human in terms of outright pace and less aggressive.

It's great fun either way, if custom races had Sophy AI, what a game they'd have (if they fixed the tyre compound bug with custom races, naturally)

Some 1hr+ races against Sophy would be amazing.

I was going to ask whether Sophy was better at pitting for wets once the rain started?

I’ve had a chance to play with it now. The ability to tune the car and fit sticky tyres makes it easy to beat Sophy. If you use a standard car with SH tyres then it’s like racing against very good, and fair, real racers (much better than me). The previous iteration of Sophy was like being up against otherworldly AI.
If they can find a way for it to use tuned cars and different tyre compounds, it will transform Gran Turismo.

That nissan 400r time trial is an absolute bugger to get right how you really struggling to get a gold on that one.

Done the new cafe book races pretty decent event and the new track and the weekly challenges decent update tbf.

Hopefully next update has a load of new race cars and a new real world track.
However did notice the last nation event was blank now they only do that when a new track is due however it's been updated to be Daytona tri oval which seems odd.
Wonder if there was meant to be a different track launched but wasn't finished in time.

Seems strange to leave it blank drop a new track them out on a event not on that track.

Ok so I do have some beef and this is something that has pissed me off pre-1.40.

6 star star roulette tickets that yield an engine part as a prize...... F. R. O. What a load of bks! Just got one for the daily marathon.

Just been awarded high lift cams for a car I don't even neither own or want to with a recommended value of 9,200cr!

Yep. I've stopped bothering with the cafe books. Spend millions on cars you don't want to win a bloody engine mod. No ta.

Got a 6 star 'car' ticket from the weekly challenge and won a Ferrari FXX K with it, so not a bad result as I didn't have one!

Now they've put the parts into the additional shop menu the 6 Star ticket no longer serves its purpose. I think what's lacking is the ability to trade cars and parts between players with an in-game economy, but I can see how that would be very difficult to put in place and manage.

The Legends marketplace is still flawed insofar as the market values vary via a mechanism we can't see so you can't "invest" via any kind of informed decision making process, other than knowing values are capped at 20m. On which note, it flies in the face of everything they're trying to introduce via the Hagerty valuations when the 20m 250 GTO, 330 P4, or whatever, immediately depreciates by 7.5m when you buy it.

The cafe books are something that organically fill up as you win/are gifted cars. I don't think you can be awarded Legend cars. I think this also applies to the Used Car Dealership, too. But I have had VGT and Invite only cars from the Roulette Wheel, so I've stopped buying new cars for the most part.

I did buy an LFA the other day, and then was gifted one for the licence tests, so that blew a million. Should have done my due diligence there.

Has anyone been exploiting the 3 million credits an hour glitch at Daytona since 1.40 released? It’s due to be patched out on Monday or Tuesday this week apparently. Some have reached 100,000,000 cr from it now.

Now you tell me!
I was racing Sophy yesterday. Could have spent time giving this a try instead.

I've been going at it but it's really boring to be fair but have managed to get 15m or so credits out of it.

To be fair it was 3 weeks, I managed 20,000,000 or so credits but some got a lot more.

It's worth noting it was also to fix the fact the quick race / Sophy races also didn't pick cars that matched your PP, so should mean you can take your tuned cars up against Sophy as well now.

Also, as I somewhat guessed would happen due to PD's consistently poor coding, the grid and payouts are calculated when you 'Start' the race (i.e go to the pre-race screen where the grid is visible and the payouts etc.)

You can then still change your car's setup (say to fit soft slicks instead of comfort hards etc.) to vastly increase your PP and still get the payout / grid for the lower PP (also works in reverse of course, so you can still hinder your own car to make Sophy more challenging)

They have seriously nerfed the payouts on ovals though, which is understandable tbh, if the payout is based on challenge, an oval is not as challenging as a real track, other than staying awake hehe

I've spent the last few days doing custom races, using the slowest cars in my garage against the Tomahawk. By limiting the Tomahawk's gear ratio, I've been getting big payouts for lapping the Nürburgring, Spa, Brands Hatch etc, using a VW Beetle , VW bus, the Fiat 500, and a few pre-war cars.
The Beetle handles surprisingly well at the limit. you might even consider using it as the inspiration for a sports car. wink

Rally cross at cataluna for this weeks challenge has absolutely done me.

Had to drop the difficulty to easy to even make it a clean race!

Use one of the trucks and turn off TC (Raptor/Tundra) tuned up. It's very easy. It's weird but the trucks seem much easier to drive quickly on dirt than the rally cars.
