Looking forward to the update on the 22nd. 3 cars and 2 tracks.
I'd not spotted that, but you're quite right, they mention it on their Facebook page. Fingers crossed for more pukka racing cars rather than the big heavy things! My favourite cars so far are the Lotus 49 and the KTM X-Bow, which has utterly amazing handling! Whilst the road cars don't really interest me much, it is interesting comparing the E92 M3 (which I have driven in real life) with the E30 M3 (which I haven't) - the comparison is as I expected from reading reviews in magazines etc.
I've not been on mine much as I'm using an old DX10 graphics card so I've got square trees and poor graphics in general, and I can't seem to get my xbox wheel set up properly (although they're fixing that apparently).
However I've just ordered a new graphics card and will pick up a fanatec wheel set in a couple of weeks so I'm sure I'll be making up for lost time then!

That looks fantastic. Come late January/ early Febuary when i finally get a PC I think this will be top of my list! The 458 and X-bow aren't too bad but generally the cars are very pedestrian to drive, I'm finding it very boring to be honest. The FFB is numb and the cars lack any real grunt on the throttle, not helped by peculiar mapping that leaves a huge deadzone in the pedal.
I hope the update also brings some big changes to the underlying physics and force feedback. Game Stock Car feels much better right now.

The FFB is certainly a bit ropey, I'm hoping its just lack of optimisation for different wheels. I hope the update also brings some big changes to the underlying physics and force feedback. Game Stock Car feels much better right now.

Hmm.. I must admit I'm not experiencing the dead zone on the throttle (do you have the driver aids switched off?), but I agree on the FFB - the FFB in AC is indeed the only element of the game that I don't think is better than every other sim I've tried - I think it was RFactor 2 that had the best beforehand in my opinion, but I can't really remember. To be honest though, as another poster above says, the majority of the feeling in a car goes on through your arse and by comparing your course with the steering angle - you get the latter in a sim, but not the former, but that'll always be the case.I hope the update also brings some big changes to the underlying physics and force feedback. As for the cars lacking grunt, The Lotus 49 is the obvious exception to this (I presume you don't find that lacking!!!), but out of the others I've driven 3 in real life and can report that they're pretty realistic from what I remember. The one I have the most experience of is the Elise, as I've driven most of the variants and owned one for 8 years including track days, and that is very realistic indeed (accepting the slight mods the sim made to the car they simulate). As I said above, for me the ultimate verification and validation of the sim would be the road legal 2-Eleven as I currently own a pretty much standard one that I take on track and on the road, so can directly compare back to back. The presence of the racing one in tomorrow's release though probably means we won't be getting the road version for quite a while. Hopefully the changes for the racing version will be subtle and predictable enough for me to notice some similarities though or at least extrapolate.
For reference I'm using a G27 with three pedals and a manual gearshift when it's available on the car, and obviously I'm driving with all the driver aids turned off ('pro' mode). I also change the steering lock to match the actual car (cause I'm obsessive like that!).
In the 458 I can apply more than 35% throttle before the engine responds and while holding throttle the revs just continue to rise.
I'm not the only one having issue with the throttle mapping.

Interesting. I can't view the thread without joining, but I'll join and look another time. I've not driven the 458 much, but did a lap in it last night to show someone and it felt ok to me. I guess it's a problem that varies between pedals and drivers? It is a beta version I suppose, but it needs to work in a rudimentary way. Are the other cars ok?I'm not the only one having issue with the throttle mapping.

458 is the worst culprit but they all feel slightly off to me. The thread has quite a lot of similar reports from players with lots of different pedals like the G27 and Fanatec ClubSport.
Despite being underwhelmed so far I'm optimistic they'l improve it a lot over time, AC does have a lot of potential. id much rather play this in beta than blow hundreds on Forza 5

I was struggling to enjoy AC with my G27. I was getting horrible snap over-steer when try to come out of a drift. It was unrealistic and frustrating but then I came across this on the forum http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index.php?thread... and now I'm able to control the cars much better and the overall feel on the FFB is far better.

These are the settings for G25/G27. There are a number setting for different wheels on the link.
It's in Italian but you should be able to work out which settings are which by the check boxes.
