Having fun in LFS
Discussion
From what I read on the website there are no tools for reskinning cars yet but they promise a full set of tools so it should be possible to include your own models at some point in the not too distant future.
I quite fancy putting my own racecar in the game - then I can suffer the embarassment of being beaten online with it as well as on the real track
Will be very willing to help test any private server.

I swear there are tools available already...
Even so - i made a Carlsberg skin (two tone racing green with red pin stripe round lower bodywork) on S1 for my XTR using paint shop pro - i'll be using that for S2. I'll post some screenshots up when i have a pistonheads one made up
Just trying to buy the bloody game and i'm not getting a conformation email. I want the full version tonight damn it !!

I've just had a 3 solid hours on the full s2 version -absolutely brilliant !
Oval racing was rather good, and easy to get on with. Fave car so far is the single seater with motorbike engine in and no spoilers. Even have to drop down like a bike to get it into 1st. Its a relatively low speed car 90-100mph but its great fun and makes you think more technically about how you are driving ie. braking points/turn in/acceleration Felt brilliant through the force feedback..
So whos on for some racing tomorrow evening ?

Typical - just got home
Looks like we really need a private server to make this work. Might have to switch one of my servers back on (currently switched off after all the hot weather we had recently) and see if I can rig it up!
Anyone know what ports are needed (probably all on the site but I haven't even looked yet)?

Rigged the free demo version of the server up last night and tested it locally. All seems well but I could do with a few other people trying it out to load test it.
Not sure I really want to go posting my IP address up for the world to read until I am sure of the security on the server so can any volunteers email me and I will post the address by return.
I don't have a host name associated (yet) so you'll have to use the intranet option and enter the IP address directly.

Sadly, I'm off work, ill at home today, so no joining in for me just yet.
Maybe tomorrow? Or the weekend?
Just sussed out a few details
First of all you don't need my host ip address. The local intranet option doesn't work with global addresses (only seems to like the 192.168.xx.xx range)
Instead you can just use the ordinary internet option with my hostname which for the purposes of LFS is "thelair".
Give it a try and make sure it works then we can arrange some proper racing
