What's your smithing level, Heavy armour level, alchemy level and enchanting level?

For example, if you have Juggernaught 5/5, well fitted and matching set perks, with level 100 heavy armour and smithing level 91 with orc smithing perk, then it's well over the cap by 71 points at 638, no shield.

having installed the hearthfire dlc quite a while ago, Im only just gettng into making it after making just the main first part of the house.

its getting quite pricey now.

think my 10k gold left will mostley get taken up by 'parts' for my house.

does anyone know the most expensive (for sale) potion ingredients are as to make the most expensive potion to sell, i have LOADS of ingreadients now as have just been collecting for ages.

Giant's toe, blue mountain flower, blue butterfly wing,

giant's toe, bear claws, hanging moss.

Those are the two most valuable ones - can fetch up to 5k per potion with fortify alchemy gear.

Pity very few (if any) merchants actually have 5k gold to spend.

That's why you invest in Lucan Valerius.

does anyone know if my skyrim is borked, or just I did something wrong?

I wanted to start the dark brotherhood quest, so I killed the old woman in the orphanage, an all the kids cheered me, and then after 24 hours I was suposted to get a courier deliver me a letter saying something from the brotherhood, but didnt get anything, then just went about the normal questing duties, and when I was going through the wilderness, an assassin tryed to kill me but i burnt him to a crispy thing, then looted his crispy pockets and it had a note in it, saying that someone had a contract out on my head.

so then I went back to the orphanage, and killed the other woman there then the kids were all shouting "get away".

should I not have killed the other woman? or done something different?

I bet you have never slept have you?

Have you told the boy in Windhlem you have done it as well? Then sleep somewhere.

You don't kill the other woman, I didn't even know you could as you adopt from her in Hearthfire. Do you have a save before that?

You get resting bonuses but yes it's very important if you want to start the Dark Brotherhood questline.

You've fked that up...

Reload a save before you killed the nice woman, kill Grelod the kind (it's a misnomer) then sleep, anywhere, any bed. Doesn't matter where, they'll find you...

You will wake up in a shed in the middle of nowhere (actually north of Morthal in the swamp bit) with a choice of 4 people to kill. The one on the shelves is the one to kill if you want to destroy the dark brotherhood, any of the 3 bagged figures if you want to join the dark brotherhood.

It doesn't matter whichever you kill.

ETA - the boy escaped back to windhelm, he's, um, err, his both first and surnames start with an A...
