At tier 2, most players are just starting the game and don't know how to play, so you do get trolls in Panzer IIJ tanks smashing them. It's not very sporting, but it takes only a handful of games to get past tier 2, even if you're crap.
Don't be put off, but realise that even if you've played thousands of games and unlocked a load of tier 10 tanks, you will meet players who can wipe the floor with you and if you put yourself in a bad position, even a bad player can send you back to the garage quickly.

Get yourself to 5 or 6 (6 allows you to accrue BattlePass points for lots of free stuff).

Tier 2 is a crap fest with unicums seal clubbing using way overpowered crews and tanks just to boost their stats and ego. Everyone plays like a free for all. At least in the higher tiers you learn not to rush in like an idiot.

I haven't logged in for months but Tier 6 was rapidly becoming where you are just the fodder for all the Tier 8 premium tanks they are selling so maybe hang around Tier 5 for a while?Dont fall for this myth that you have to do hard time at the lower levels to get good.

They really need to allow 1 crew skill and 1 piece of equipment at Tier 2, 2 at T3, 3 at T4, etc. so it's not quite so brutal for new players. Though I say the same about WarThunder so maybe it's part of their strategy.
Have any of the new updates changed the cost of playing?
I have a level 8 tank, and used to pretty much break even with standard ammo, small repair kits and repairs after a game, but now its costing me a fortune in coins to replace items and ammo. Even after a really good game, good damage etc I don't seem to earn much.
Also, is there a way to ensure that small repair kits/first aid kits etc are replenished from stores, rather than buying new ones? I bought loads when they were on offer, but the game automatically buys new ones from the store rather than using what I bought before.

As you say, it will auto supply from your ones in the depot.
This is probably why you are not breaking even, having to buy a 20k large repair kit each time
An average player should break even. Unless you are using aparticualar tank that has more expensive basic ammo, they do vary within tiers.

oh, and the Bourrasque, Bisonte, matildaBP, T15, M22, T78, and the M4A1 FL10.

I think its not to bad. Obviously you have to adapt to the autoloader style of play.
What I think people dont like is that it is not an OP tank. Its a good solid tank that good players can play well in.
I get a bit sick of these people that only play the best tanks.
I'm loving the Bourrasque though, with the cash bonuses at the mo I can make a million a day. It does make you load a few more gold than normal though, for when you need it lol

I accidentally drank several beers with my best friend today. Decided it was a neat idea to get 50 boxes.
I got 25 before (not beer fuelled and before this evening) and got the Bourrasque.
First set of 25, today, on the sixth I got the ISU with the old BL10, eighth, the T78.
Second set of 25 I got the Italian heavy on the eighth box, and the GSOR TD thing on the tenth. Plenty of gold to keep me going for a year at least. WG loves me, apparently! But just not enough to give me the T6 sherman autoloader!
