Clash of Clans??

Im interested to see what happens, im going to stick with it as im a Max TH9 just doing walls and heroes/DE upgrades now so DE is all im really protecting and i can be wasteful on gold/elixir. I really do feel for people trying to save 5-6-7 million for upgrades at the moment though.

You're the only level player that this is al working for at the moment. I'm mid TH8 and it's proving nigh on impossible to save up anything more than about 1.5 mil of either. In my last 10 defences I have been wiped out to the tune of 250k or more of each. Oh and these 10 defences have happened within the last 48 hours.Martin_Hx said:

Im exactly the same. Just started on lvl 10 walls and heros both at 20. I was pushing to champ but got bored of getting smashed as anyone still playing is bringing out the big gunsI'm just focusing on walls until things settle down or get adjusted. Nobody is bothering me because I never have more than 1m of anything lying around. Upgrading anything else will cost me a minimum of 7m gold and I don't see me saving that without spending money on the game, which I'm not interested in doing.
I wonder if the update has worked for Supercell in a commercial sense. Has it encouraged more people to pay for gems at the expense of the rest of us who would never make them any more money? Our needs don't really matter much - they're not a charity after all - so this update may be a stroke of genius by them, even though it sucks for us.
If they don't adjust things and the situation persists then I doubt I'll hold out once the walls are done and there's no chance of progressing further. On to the next game, probably.

And gems, i think people will use them less, i have only used gems to boost barracks in the past (im sat on 2500 at the moment from achievements and clearing obstacles) but i boosted barracks the other night and hardly made any profit over my normal 30 min army. This update seems to have just slowed the game right down.
1 gem boosts are now available so we will see what happens but i don't think anything will change for a good few weeks!

Another one bites the dust! So long Craig, was fun while it lasted
It was Martin. You were a similar level to me a while back so I always compared my base to yours. My addiction for the game soon died away though. I tried a 2nd account from scratch for 6 months and that wasn't the answer.I had quit before the update as it was a monotonous game for me, raid for 2 hours, spend resources on upgrade, raid again. Raiding became boring in the end. Would have liked to war but then again you need to raid to gain elixir to train troops
Supercell will return the game to its former self. More and more people are leaving the game and I did buy gems to boost the barracks. People will not want to spend £8 every few days/week which seems to be needed to compete on the game.
I thought the update wasn't too bad, but I'm finding myself playing less and less. Perhaps it just coincided with the end of my cycle with the game. I've not got close to the millions needed to upgrade anything significant since the update, few walls, and dark stuff, but none of the usual bits. I'm struggling to see it as a commercial decision as why would anyone spend cash when the difference it can offer is negligible.

Anyone playing this game? Picked it up in November & can't put it down.
Never normally get sucked into games but this one has me hooked. It feeds of my impatience so one of those that's free to buy but if you want to progress quickly then it can cost.
Not picked this up as I've seen it turn my otherwise "computer games are for nerds" father in law into a gibbering wreck! Clearly its a good game to have got him suckered in so much. His grandson got the game and said they could play against each other, roll on 6 months and now my father in law has two tablets on the go with an automatic alarm on his phone to make sure the screen doesn't lock whilst he is cooking dinner.Never normally get sucked into games but this one has me hooked. It reminds me of the levels of addiction and compulsion brought to many in the late 90s with the epic http://www.planetarion.com/ which I was surprised to just see is still going strong!
My BiL is a chef and he is on it constantly through the day.
Of my clan of 40+ less than half are regularly active since the update. Our 30/35 sided wars have dropped to 10/15 a side. They are trying to force players to spend money on the game, and some idiots are spending hundreds, if not thousands of $s, but they've killed the game.

I was wondering what the PH view was on the latest update (I believe there is a new update shortly too to address some of the concerns).
Oddly, I've found that the latest update seems to work well for me (nearly maxed TH8) and through some good defences I'm now, somehow, in Crystal 2.
Farming isn't that hard either but I think there are a lot of bases that have been abandoned following the updates so time will tell how that will pan out I guess. I've managed to come away with some 3-4-500k worth of loot in a few raids over the past couple of days.
Time will tell I guess, but it's easy to see that Supercell want to push more people in to paying for stuff - Something I've never done myself, nor will I.

As someone doing just heroes (22/21) and level 10 walls (+ some DE lab upgrades) as a max TH9 its not changed for me, i do fear a little when i go to TH10 though! but we will see what future tweaks there is.
Only thing that annoys me at the moment is not getting a shield before 30% destruction

There's never been a better time than now to upgrade your walls. In fact it's hard to hang on to loot long enough to upgrade anything else!
I agree, Supercell want us to dig deep and pay for week long shields to drum up / protect loot enough to upgrade; however, like many I refuse to part with my hard earned simply because the game designer has manipulated the game to suggest I do so.
For now, or until another update hits it's attention walls.
