Had a quick go last night - in the 1:57s so far - had a play with a few cars but the Celica seems to be the best for me as it's quite edgy.

Interesting track as some of the corners can be taken on a couple of lines.

Will have more of a bash later as I was shattered after traveling and I noticed my times dropping right off as I got tired.

Did a 1:57.2 just now, then the lap following it I was 1.2 seconds in front of my own ghost a little before the final chicane and took it a bit too smoothly and clipped the grass. My xbox was turned off with in seconds banghead

Hi Chaps - back home and I survived another India trip so perhaps if I apply some Bombay driving I'll be in the running smile

Wonder how well you can spec up an Auto Rickshaw, Bond style...

How about this one!

I've only managed a 2:02 in the Audi S5 so far, no funds to use the tune up i've bought for my Toms MR-S. That and a lack of any sniff of talent means I think i'll go back to being massacred on COD for now smile

Do you use the clutch? I just can't get in to the 1:55s yet. I'm very close but it requires a flawless lap. I've got everything turned off asides manual with clutch, I just use manual frown

Managed to throw in a 1:54.676

I reckon that for every clean lap I'm doing about 7 dirty laps, all at the last chicane rage

Even the time above was with being very hesitant through the last bit - there might be a bit more but only there - the rest of the lap was pretty solid.

I've just added you both to my FL and will give the next track a go. I should help to prop up the bottom of the table! (GT: Sixpot24)

I'm down to the low 1.58s now, with a 22B and another second or two to come, but I can't match my pace in the first challenge. I'm a long way off a 1.55...

Frustrating this! smile I wish I was better at setting up cars!

Use the hot lap option (not in season play) at main menu, Class B (500 max HP for the car at this level), Catalunya GP circuit smile

This week we're doing catalunya gp b class.

Have a read of the first post of this thread and if you want adding to the leaderboards just send me and nessiemac a friends request, we'll sort you out.

To get into the time trial just go to the leaderboards menu and choose Catalunya GP then Class B - hit A and you can do hot laps from there.

what difficulty folks?

1.47 with the aston and lots of mistakes...

I realise that was the gt one I think. I just went through all of the leaderboards there and the best I think is around 1:52 ish and only got the choice of 2 astons....this seems more like it...

Then you must be in the wrong class, or track....
B class, maximum perfomance points of 500.

Difficultly makes no difference. That's just the different options.

Think it was wrong class of car.

Friends have said it is quicker once you get to a certain stage on manual?

Is this BS?

No, I think It's correct.

Manual (although I don't use the clutch option) allows you to hold gears longer, meaning you can use some redline to eek out a mph or two in a straight, or change up for a higher speed corner to help with understeer...

It took a little getting used to, but I'd never go back to auto!

I bet, surely, in that case, it would be a tad faster, thus making all the difference?

Currently, I'm using an Impreza 22B with a setup bought from the Storefront. Once you buy the car, go into Upgrade/my tuning setups and load it. It fits the parts automatically, but IIRC it cost 120kish. (and the car cost 40kish, so you need 160k for this one)

I think the car is capable of a 1.56 in my hands, If I can be persistent enough. (Which is unlikely!) I'm not going to come close to matching Kitch and Asterix though!

Might try a Toms MR2. I've given the Celica a go, but only got that to high 1.58s

ETA - when buying setups from storefront, you can specify class/track/car, so its easy to find a good one.
