Cheers chaps - I guess I'll just start wandering then!
Makes sense I suppose - presumably it will help with "levelling up" for when I get further in?
The spoilered "hut" question - no I haven't met anyone else yet - I've tried messing about in the cellar but got nowhere!
I normally play games the other way round - with Red Dead and GTA I always do the story missions first then do the side missions.

I played through Skyrim twice. The first time I was an innocent and played it as I found it. The second time I played with a strategy - to upgrade smithing and alchemy first to create incredible weapons and armour. The first play through was a brilliant (and lengthy) journey exploring everywhere and finding everything by accident. The second was an overpowered, opponent destroying, smash fest of bliss. I thoroughly enjoyed both. That's what I love about the Elder Scrolls, you can slice it whichever way you want, but it is always an enjoyable experience.
Is anyone playing this on Mac?
I have it on 360 and have done a quite a few playthroughs and the main / big quest lines, but I want to play it on a computer with mods.
I've read that Skyrim on Mac (via Steam) is simply a case of using a 'Wine Skin' and it's then playable and moddable as normal.
Anyone on here doing this?

Someone asked me if this would be ok for their 11 year old son, I didn't think it was appropriate. Apparently he plays all the Call of Duty games but I said its not like you shoot someone and they fall over dead
"Players use swords, axes, and hammers in brutal melee combat against human and fantastical opponents. Blood flies through the air, coating the floor and walls, and enemy characters grunt, scream, and spin like rag-dolls when struck. Slow motion kill moves see the camera move out of first-person perspective to provide a more cinematic view of the action".

He would either be bored to tears or traumatised for live when the Riften blacksmith proposes marriage. I think it's much mroe suitable for an 11 year old than CoD!
Yeah there's some gore and creepy parts in the game, but it's a fantasy game, it's the context that's important.
It's not like Modern Warfare 2 where you can play a mission as a Russian terrorist gunning down dozens of civilians in an airport...

I was just looking those up a couple nights ago! Where did you order it from?
I found it on a site called Etsy which stock stuff from independent businesses. It came from a lady in Colorado called Audball Crafts. It arrived earlier in the week and couldn't resist trying it on Eric - it's a bit big for him, but the young Dragonborn seems to like it. Shortly before shouting his mother across the room:Quite a lot of Skyrim inspired stuff on there too - https://www.etsy.com/uk/search?q=skyrim
