Just played my first few games on Back to Karkand.

Last game was on Wake Island and I have a new favourite way of playing the game.

Squad up with 3 fellow PHers (In this case Foobes, RusselGrant and Danny X360) then get a soflam up (or a CITV station in a tank) one guy dropping ammo crates and the others firing off javelins from cover at targets they cant even see... flares wont help you now, heli buggers biggrin

that was my first go in the citv as I'd only just unlocked it, sooooo much fun aggro'ing the enemy. Amazing how they all scuttle off when you start locking on.

Best thing about Javs is they seem to be one hit kills on jets and helis, ideal.

I love that, pilots strutting their stuff, smashing everyone, suddenly beep beep beep beeeeeeeeeep...then watch them dive behind a hill with their tail between their legs hehe

It's great when they panic and end up flying into something hehe

Problem was I ended up the victim of the Soflam spot that had no missile to follow it up. The pilot was flying around like a mad thing so desperate to avoid the lock that he wasn't actually useful. I was the gunner and not able to stay on target long enough to hit more than a few pedestrians.

We eventually took a nice route through the buildings at Karkand, not sure why, and hit a wall.

I felt like pointing out that it was Soflam, BUT YOU CAN'T TALK TO ANYONE and no one reads the message bar it seems to me.

Still I was playing very badly last night. twice I got my highest points by one kill and a comeback bonus of 110.

The expansion maps as good as they were in BF2?

Haven't played BF3 since Skyrim came out (go figure...hehe), but will probably be back on it now that the old maps are back!

HI,
anyone been having crashes during a game since the Back to Karkand update?
Mine has done it a few times now. Starts off with my movement being fine but everything around me stuttering then stopping and then a grey screen with a couple of Polygons.

It may be my computer, which is why I'm asking.

another update on the way I reckon then.
Maybe the next time they should just patch the stabilioty issues, check they work and then work on the other in game aspects later.

Oh and I want the SCAR-H back to strength. with a 7.62 round it should be as powerful as it was. They could have made it less accurate, which would have been a little more realistic.

I've had this as well, other players will freeze and I'll sort of fall through the map as it quits to desktop, only started since B2K - but has only happened about three times, so it's not too much of a hindrance. Seem to remember BadCo2 having a similar problem back in the day.

Only problem I seem to get now which I didn't before is the infinite loading screen (all black but with the blue LOADING... writing in the bottom right corner) when a round ends.

I bought the expansion pack on origin this afternoon but nothing seems to have downloaded... Does that just unlock the extra maps.

In-between rounds I get a panel of assignments and I've even completed one... Does this mean I've upgraded ok?

Starting to rank up a bit now, getting all my points when I find good squads in conquest. Supplying medkits, reviving, suppressing and taking flags not getting too many kills with a rifle, more being a gunner on vehicles.

Having fun with stingers!!!

Yeah, there is no download for Karkand, you already downloaded it with the ~2gb update patch a couple of weeks back.

A bit fooking cheeky of them to do that tbh but hey that's EA.

I'm afraid I'm out for the weekend, bought a new telly and it's fallen out with the PS3 already which is a might good excuse to return a rather large impulse buy.

The old 32" has been on the blink for a while on a impulse today I bought a 43" Samsung Plasma from Tesco for £350. Very nice and all but I didn't realise it was only 720, not 1080 and the HDMI connection is flickering like mad and will not stay put. I might try a new HDMI cable first but I'm fairly tempted to take it back for what I guess will be a 42" LCD 1080.

I can rebuild a classic Mini from scratch and score 5k+ on BF3 but I know st about TV's.

Unless you really want rid of the telly, just change the PS3 output to 720p in the (ps3's) settings menu, the difference in quality between 1080/720 should be pretty negligible on a 43".
