I prefer to play breakthrough, you know roughly what area the enemy are approaching from, and the defend and attack aspect of it makes for a more of a classic war feel than stbags running round the map extremities and hitting you from behind.
Aye, that's what I play.

Only 1 or 2 objectives tends to mean "tesm" work is less of an issue

Just don't do the specialisation upgrade to "improved grenades" as they don't appear to actually do anything.

New update, new bugs! This weeks ToW requires playing combined arms, so me and my buddy thought we'd ty the new version that drags in a couple of randoms to make up a 4-man squad - first game worked fine. Started loading the next game and one of the randoms decided to leave, which put the game into a loop trying to find a 4th guy to join us 3. Spent the next 10 mins watching a matchmaking screen, with none of us able to quit. Despite me being Squad Leader and having a "kick from squad" option, this didn't work. In the end we had to Ctrl-Alt-Del and end BFV from task manager.

Playing solo the next day, and trying to complete the "win 4 games of combined arms" I wasn't having any luck finding a game with any randoms playing, so rather than "Quickmatch" a particular mission, I pressed the "quickmatch" button at the Combined Arms mainscreen, which says it will find any available C/A game... but it doesn't... the first time it fired up a Team Deathmatch game. The next time, a Squad Conquest.

Anyway, got there in the end... after I damaged enough "Vechicles" to win the gun:

Exactly the same here. They've definitely got the "b" team on it. This is supposed to be a AAA game, I've seen better work from small 2 man development teams. Also, what happened to grind mode?

I liked grind. No running around in circles, few vehicles, just a straight up fight no fking around etc

I have come round to firestorm somewhat. It's a very different game but we've had some fun with it.

Yeah, the only thing id change is the fact you can "down, then execute" someone. Would prefer it was the same as the rest of the game where there is a decent amount of time for you to revive someone, as so far only once have I managed to get to a fallen squadmate before the enemy finished him off.

Oh joy, even more crappy modes coming to dilute the game even further and make it less likely to fill a server.

And none of their answers to "burning questions" address the basic stuff like why are we still capped at level 50 etc

On the plus side, a new map.

Battlefield die-hard checking in.

I didn't bother buying this, worth getting cheap?

If you've nothing else to play it probably is, a lot of the initial really bad bugs are gone now and at times it can feel like a proper Battlefield game.

I still enjoy playing it, I don't worry about the cheating, have the odd occasional frustrating game but on the whole wanging across the map on a tracked motorbike with a mate is a laugh.

The solo missions are good as are the combined arms co-op play via AI. Worth getting if discounted.

I played some "Fortress" today and found it quite fun, nice and intense due to everyone being funnelled into one place.

i think the cry babies are the ones who only like to play conquest where they can run around in circles, protecting their k/d ratio tbh

I was going to come back online and give it a go, but I assume it'll only be available for a week or so and then disappear, So I thought "what's the point".
I understand why they rotate the modes, but it really hurts the game.

I presume there's a world of people who compare this stuff to boost their egos but it's never been something that's bothered me unless I have to do something very specific for an unlock.

That said I do like to rank up and that's usually my incentive to keep playing, of course everyone is level 50 these days so it's not an issue.

I like Fortress, one of the best modes in the series, it's a shame there are only two maps.
