Terrible weekend for me to the point I gave up early in Race 2 out of sheer frustration. Was way off the pace, I could accept that, but I think I crashed more time in that first race than in the whole series so far....

Maybe me, or maybe just this track layout ( the full circuit is fine)

Anyhow, race results updated:

Question to Mark, can the AI driver option be toggled on for Donington? To use if you do get stuck in the gravel as they always managed to drive out of it. Toggle it on if you get stuck then off once back on track, it gives control back after 3 seconds of turning it off.
We can, just need to create a new profile and upload.

Note to everyone - don't take the *iss and "forget" to take the AI off after your out of the kitty litter....

AI Function now enabled driving

Got to say Holst, there is driving defensive and there is blocking. Whilst it was enjoyable and everyone around showed excellent car control, IMHO it was a bit much.

Hey ho, the driving etiquette was only guidance notes.

Roll on next week smile

http://www.mercia.biz/mj/2009%20Season/PH%20FBMW%2...

Race 1 was pretty good, managed to crash on lap 2 putting me back to last (Sorry Ricepilot for ending up in front of you). Then had an excellent race working my way back to the pack and passing a few to finish in 4th.

Race 2 was very good, had a really good race with Holst, FWD, and Altrezia all trying to get into 3rd spot, eventually found a good line and went around the outside of Holst at McLean's - only problem was that Holst ran wide on the exit and tapped my rear tyre sending me into a spin. Then had a few laps of chasing, passing FWD as he fell off at Coppice before getting a run on Andy. Last lap, do or die into the Old Hairpin to get a run into McLean's but ran wide and spun it allowing FWD and Holst through putting me back into 7th.

This weeks highlights should be good viewing ļ

Looking forward to Oulton next week, went there on the bike 2 weeks ago, so it will be good to see if I learnt anything after actually being on circuit.

I can connect but only by refreshing the list to get the Pistonheads server to appear.
The normal IP address no longer works for PH server, insteads it brings this server up.

So anyone trying to connect by IP address will not get ours.
All sorted.

Message from service provider:

"You should now see your server on your standard IP address. The problem was with another customer, who had not reconfigured his Multiplayer.ini to represent the ports that had been assigned to him; so the server was using default ports (your ports).

We've contacted the customer, prompting them to ensure that they configure their Multiplayer.ini with the correct ports (if they overwrite the original) to avoid this issue again in future."

With 4 rounds to go I just realised that with a 144 point lead and only 80 available FWD has won this series.....

All to play for for 2nd to 7th place.

Congratulations FWD, out in front once again.

Only 6 racing, but very enjoyable around this track. Had a quiet 1st race had a decent lead between me and Andy in 3rd, then lost concentration and fell off twice frown PV and Andy caught me up but PV also fell off at shell corner and I kept it in front of Andy to claim 2nd - FWD way out in front.

Race 2, managed to crash on the first lap sending me to the back of the pack, Ricepilot also crashed soon after so passed him then tried to chase PV and Andy down was slowly catching before PV ran out of fuel with a couple of laps to go, got to within about a second of Andy, but did a do or die at the chicane and died..... Finished in 3rd.

The bumps were really bad in these cars, but just before the start I softened the springs, which made a massive difference, far easier to control. 2nd race also raised the ride height as I kept bottoming out in the first race.

looks cool - have a go to see if you can get it to work locally - if you can we can see if we can run it on the server in the background.

Have done a translation of the instructions if you want it.

A thought for the upcoming new league, not that it is agreed at this stage, but should we choose to run the TCL mod and adopt a 3 x 10 minute race format, then how about:-

Free Practice = 15minutes
Qualification = 15 Minutes
Race 1 = 10 Minutes *
Race 2 = 10 Minutes reverse grid **
Race 3 = 10 minutes reverse grid **

* = Any car class (Group A, B or C)
** = as * but bottom 2 finishers (or bottom 20% whichever is greater) from previous race have the option to change car group ie from group C or B to A.

That way it gives most people the opportunity and incentive to stick around to mix it throughout each weekend.

Your thoughts - should be easy to manage, just a matter of those wanting to change cars doing so as soon as race 1 is finished.

The Escort RS is excellent too, although after a few laps my fronts are hanging off their rims !! Also like the Rover, BMW and Sierra. Can't get on with the Supra around Cadwell though. Got to try the others over the weekend.

Also, in true tradition, how about running this series with damage on ? or at least for one of the races each weekend ?

Maybe just one change then between race 1 and 2. I guess that will take a max of 5 minutes for people to do, during which we can identify the grid and people can have their usual smoke, pee, put the baby to sleep wink

Will certainly make race three interesting smile
