It's interesting the Professional critics have given it 80%+ the fans are giving it a major kicking 50-60%. That's across all platforms as well. There is usually something wrong when the two scores are so far apart.

I picked up a copy at lunch, I am looking forward to it, but then again I am not expecting this to be like GTA 5 which appears to be what most "Game players" are comparing it too.

My brother has been playing it since Midnight on the PS4 and says its brilliant, he hasnt played GTA5 all that much so thankfully isnt saying GTA map is bigger drivings better etc, hes just reviewing the game in front of him.

Its got an in-car view, you can cruise around like a boss lol. Got this four door bentley-esque car. Really like this game so far.

I'm currently downloading it (PC) so will report back a bit later, I did read some of the reviews.

I think the issue is that it requires a powerful PC to get the most out of it. Reviewers obviously have access to such machines but those without who are not getting 60fps or are having to turn details down will be complaining about it.

I doubt the amount of RAM will make any difference, games rarely use even 8Gb. I've heard it's quite processor intensive, I'm running an i7 4820 and a 780Ti so I will post the results when I've tried it. I normally run 3 monitors though, so I suspect I will have to turn a few details down. I will test it on one though to compare.

my "rig" is nothing special (i5 @3.5ghz and AMD Radeon HD7850) and im not having any problems running it at all, admittedly its running with settings on medium, but i don't have enough time now days to worry about graphics, its all about game play now days, and i must say i'm rather enjoying it!

That's because most "Professionals" are bribed, paid or influenced in their reviews. Very few actual professional and unbiased.

6 of one etc.

The fan reviews are heavy on pro/anti so lots of 10s and lots of 1s. Likewise the pro's have a clear bias in many cases and I actually think different priorities to normal players. You end up appreciating different elements of games if you play them 8 hours a day. I usually find I more likely to enjoy a game when the scores match up fairly closely.

How many people actually spend their time checking their FPS rather than playing the game though?

Most of the time you can't notice the slow down when you're playing anyway.

Saying that, so far I'm finding the game alright- the car handling's a bit, err, wk though.

Just got it for PS3. My first thoughts are that they've made the graphics worse on the PS3 to make the ps4 version look better. They're very rough in places and not as good as the PS3 is capable of as demonstrated by GTA V. The game itself is quite fun although the car handling is a long way short of GTA. I'm not as impressed as I was expecting, the hacking part isn't as in depth as I'd thought. I do like it but it's just not as good as I'd hoped. Gta v moved things on I guess and this is quite a bit behind that.

I'll give it a bit longer but initially I'd give it about 80%.

Some of the magazine reviews are harsh :

"In Short: A highly enjoyable GTA clone but one that doesn’t quite have the panache of Rockstar’s best or the inspiration to make the most of its otherwise enjoyable gameplay concepts.

Pros: Key gameplay mechanics are solid, including the shooting, driving and stealth. Smartphone abilities work well and enable some fairly open-ended missions. A near endless array of side content.

Cons: The story and characters are not very interesting. The game as a whole lacks personality and mission design often lacks inspiration. Graphics are not as good as originally implied.

Score: 7/10"

I might hold off for a few months, then snap up a half-price copy.

Picked it up this morning, played it for about half an hour when I got home from work with the intention of playing later this evening, but really can't be arsed.

This game was the reason I bought the PS4 on launch date (before they announced the delay to the game). Obviously need to give it more time before I make my mind up but it hasn't grabbed me like I thought it would. Hoping that changes and it doesn't disappoint me like Infamous Second Son did...

IGN gave it 8/10
Metacritich gave it a 82 but a user rating of 5.8!
Metacritic user rating can be ignored due to cranky Russian kids. When there is a AAA title and IGN review it I see 8 as a 5 and 9 as a 7.

It's not that good at all, I am quite disappointed with it.

For me the game just doesnt seem to work, like it doesnt have a point to it.. driving the cars feels quite st, I know its not a car game but GTA V feels much much better, the hacking isnt that fun, the missions are so far the same thing over again, find the building, hack into the system then leave, thats it really.

I may be missing that, the point of the game is to hack into systems but that over and over again gets boring.

The best thing about it was the fact it cost me £37 (PS4)

Is that cheap? I have no idea.

Steam sale next year will probably get it for me.

Honestly, after an hour I'm bored stless of it.

A few really nice touches, but for the large part it's hamstrung by awful physics and a terrible story.

I'll give it a few hours when I've finished other games, but I suspect it'll be traded very quickly.

A mate of mine who is a big Assassin's Creed fan has been banging on about this all day. It sounds like a half baked GTA clone to me. And GTAV was a load of ste, so I'll not be picking this up until it's dirt cheap.
