You sound like you have put in some serious time with this. How many hours have you played since launch? You are fair cracking through it! I've completed all the souls/borne games and DLC each multiples times and am just plodding around exploring each new place. Falling for some of the traps and in other cases managing to evade and regroup (aka run away..).

I don't think I've found the cool stone face. I've been all the way through the castle as far as I can see, taking every little hidden path and lift, so I'll need to work out how I missed it. I have been across the bridge you mentioned after the Godrick boss fight. I'm now wandering around the vast open area of the next section of the game/map. Just investigating every dark corner and route looking for anything cool and hidden.

The thing I'm missing is smithing stones [1] as I want to power up my large axe that I got from one of the more basic enemy types. I have [2] and [3] but just used up all the [1] stones levelling up my basic weapon and then a great sword. I believe i can buy the [1] stones from someone in area 2 but I'm yet to find them!

Cheers and mind and share how many hours per day you have put into this game since launch smile.
Erm Steam says 48.6 Hours boxedin wondered why my fiancée was a little upset with me

The face is at the very bottom, you have to make some jumps down that look like they will kill you, but you seem to survive falling from much greater heights in this game.

For smithing stones try the mines in that area, there should be a mine... somewhere in Limgrave, that will have a boss at the end, who will drop the bell bearing you can give to the merchant in Roundtable hold, this will allow you to buy the basic level smithing stones for x amount of souls, same process repeats in the other areas with better bell bearings.

There are illusionary walls even out in the open world! A pretty cool optional boss/legacy dungeon is behind a significant one in Lurnia of the Lakes, and I would say think about heading to Caelid after clearing Lurnia of the Lakes, the Radahn fight is excellent even if people are finding it very tough.

You could complete the game on NG+7 difficulty with nothing but a broken sword and wearing a loin cloth and some other souls player will call you a filthy casul because you didn't use a guitar hero guitar instead of a regular controller.

Anyone fought the Crucible Knight on the Stormville cliffside? Big tough black armour dude with a horn on his shield. I died lots of times to him and then cheesed him by accident. But I then re-watched a video of someone beating him 1:1. Mega.

Yeah all the evergaol bosses are excellent I’ve found. I thought I was getting towards the end of the game, but I found a secret area, that led to a secret area, that led to another two secret areas, and some optional, very difficult bosses.

Some of the things in the late game are a bit silly, like ramping the difficulty up by making you fight two difficult enemies at once.

^^^ it appears you are considerably ahead of me in the game. I am around level 42 and seem to have stopped levelling up so fast as I am not seeming to find enough souls to get the next level very often. Anywhere I am capable of farming so to speak, doesn't give a really high number of souls, so I am just pushing my weapons up and have massive axe +7.

The game is good and I am continuing to do all the exploring of each area I come to. I think it is fair to say I am around 98% playing this game blind, so I am stumbling around and just seeing what pops up.

FYI : You can beat the very first boss you encounter (before the scripted death scene) and get a nice special sword & shield from it.

Well done.

I found him to be one of the easier bosses on his own. Took me 3 tries. Some of the other bosses have taken me in excess of 20 attempts.

I’m stuck on Malenia, though I haven’t had a chance to play again for a few days.

I’m not keen to hear the line “I am Malenia. Blade of Miquella.” Again anytime soon.

One thing I just want to add. I am a PC player and have always used WASD + Mouse (plus additional keys obviously) but I have bought an Xbox gamepad something I have never used before to use specifically with Elden Ring and after getting used to it I prefer it with this game. I'll still use keys and mouse on first person games and others but on this it's gamepad and if anyone else finds themselves struggling on PC, get a gamepad.

I bought one of these in case I didn't get on with it - https://www.bmstores.co.uk/products/xbox-one-sapph...

Now looking at wireless Xbox Elite Series 2 unless anyone says they have horrible battery life or something.
