Ooer Missus, quick Q&A with the devs reveals that the PS3 version suffers with a worse framerate and much longer loading times, but at least the extra content isn't going to be as major as a whole new district, so you won't be missing out on that.

The source is a forum poster with 4 posts, I'd be surprised if it wasn't just a troll.

If it is true then thats pretty disappointing for PS3 owners.

If it is just a troll, it seems pretty well organised, not to mention literate, as he's gone back and removed the comment afterwards.

One of the multiformat pubkications have taken a look at the lastest build a couple of weeks ago and reported that both systems were running near identical, with no frame rate problems on eaither consoles confused

The one I read, which was on gamesradar had an American editor and a UK editor play it, the Yank played the PS3 version and the UK editor played the 360, and the PS3 preview included a comment where he said that the framerate had a few glitches that he hoped would be ironed out in time for release.

I've read a few playtests now and its the 1st I've heard of any noticeable difference. Very dubious article if you ask me, I mean since when was the 360 the lead platform? I was under the impression both versions were built independently, A-la Call of duty.

Edited to add a bit of ying to the yang as it were.

Ign preview http://uk.ps3.ign.com/articles/855/855615p1.html

And bingo, debunked

A PS3 fanboy without a sense of humour? Now there's something you don't see every day.

Since it was the platform which sold all the copies and the platform which is easy to port to PC from? wink

And I'm not a fanboy. I fully intend to buy the PS3 (primarily as a BluRay player), I'm just waiting for a decent exclusive to come out on it.

And them to re-introduce Rumble.

Ah yes, that too.

But it compares well to the other Blu Ray players in the same bracket at present, tho prices are falling...

[quote=Steve EvilGo for the cast-iron guarantee method, pre-order it from gameplay or shopto, if it doesn't come early then you can head down to Tesco at midnight as you would have done, then when the Gameplay copy arrives the next morning you simply take that shrink-wrapped copy back to Tesco and get your money back.
[/quote]

Does this actually work? Wouldn't they have different shop bar codes on them etc?

Nope, barcodes will be the same everywhere, Tesco (or wherever) will simply scan the barcode and store it in their system as GTA:IV.

Time for another count down of yours PB, how many days left now?? ears

Right.
Ive not pre ordered.
Based on previous games, san an etc, what are the chances that I'll be able to pick up a copy locally (game being the first port of call) the day after. Or is it very likely that all copies will be sold out?

Another Q: Do names go down on first come first served lists in local highstreet shops, usually, or is that method of preordering just for the console releases (ie if I did, ahem, turn up at midnight first in the queue...?)

Not fussed about getting it on the day, so long as I can pick up a copy sometime that weekend cool

Don't think you'll have any problems getting it on day of release, I can't remember a single time where I've not been able to find a copy of a big game like that on release day. Pop into your local town and I'll guarantee that if Game, Gamestation, Zavvi etc don't have it, then someone else like John Lewis, Woolworths, Tesco or Asda will.

Glad to hear it. Ive been to a few midnight releases before in mild fear of not receiving my reserved machine, never again! biggrin
