I enjoyed it but I agree you need some actual game insight to get the most from it.

Haven't seen the whole final but it looks like a great competition.

The GR.3 Supra must be the most infuriating car to drive in the game. Random bouts of traction loss at the top end of third!

Blimey...I did a low 37 at RBR in the Megane and thought it was good! Can't see how people are getting 31's maybe they're cutting through the short circuit.
Settings are still fixed.

Fastest time is 1:35.1. I'm at 1:36.6 with an Opt. of 1:36.2

I was going to do a practice lobby for the Hot Hatch Challenge..thinking 8ish tonight, no racing, just 30mins at each track, I just wanted to make sure it's ok with you before I put it on GTP.
What's the Hot Hatch challenge?

Historically I'd have been an advocate of allowing individual set-ups but knowing how long it took, and how many cars there are, I'd suggest fixing everything and letting BoP take care of things. Perhaps allow gearing changes if there's something hopping off the limiter.

Had a go at gr3 at N24 circuit last night (just qually time trial).

I can see why done people are called aliens, watching the fastest time replay, the guy was pretty much on a different planet to me, and over 30 seconds quicker! I blame my car tho for at least 5 of those seconds laugh no one seems to be using the amg Merc to set quick times.
It's a track where a line in one corner can make 3-4 seconds difference. It's a shame you can't load in their ghosts.

I normally end up around 8:10-8:15 on the 24hr lap. Obviously lapping takes a long time to pull that time down, too. I've someone on my friends list using the same car (M3) who is at 8:07. I'm normally a bit faster than him so obviously there's more to come if I can find the time.

Watching the 7:50 laps in the Supra. I can't drive the car in the same way yet. I need to spend some time to learn it. Any wheelspin and you lose massive amounts of time, or spin/crash.

Have they changed the physics again?

I'm 0.5-0.7 secs off my laptimes from Monday in various cars today.

I can't "feel" any connection between car and track now, never mind sense traction. I was hoping the Huracan was just set to be a pig in the circuit experience but it looks like that's not the case.

I'd done a handful of laps in a number of cars at Interlagos on Monday to test. Cannot get close to those lap times now.

Some, like the R8, are just spearing me off into the wall. When it goes it's sudden and big. There's no physical clue as to what is happening when using a DS4. Will have to start running TCS and CSA again I think.

Kills the game for me as the updates they've made through the life of it have got to a point where I can't make back the difference. Historic ghosts etc are useless in terms of setting laps but good references.

I've lost two seconds around Interlagos in total as updates have been made. In this instance it looks like it's an absolute difference relative to the fastest laps, too. I'd got back to 1.5-2% off pole. I think this puts me nearer 3%.

I forget who is using wheel/DS4 but would be interested to know how much of a difference you're seeing as a reference point.

Also something on GTP about people using the DS4 to apply a tiny bit of brake whilst using a wheel set-up to make the car faster? WTF

There's a vid on GT planet. Basically resting the DS4 on the ground so the button is sending a signal but not beyond the deadzone. It screws the ABS (light flashes constantly) and somehow the car is faster. Many of the top replays show this now and that's what the reference to controller switching was about in the update. Though it hasn't fixed it.

CSA has helped a bit but still a bit off timewise, frustratingly.

911s? Yup!

Enjoying Bathurst,

I was worries it would a SR killer, but working hard to get a S SR rating has helped - players are much more respectful!

I don't qualify well, so work on setting a good race pace and non-stopping. The last laps are always good fun as I normally have a pack of drivers on fresh tyres catching me up!

I'm certain that no stopping is the quickest race to run.
I think track position is key over the mountain - borderline impossible to cleanly overtake a well driven car.

I assume there's some sort of manual 'box/ABS bullst type glitch on race C this week? People I am always quicker than are two seconds faster.

Literally just read that on GT Planet. I can fully understand that as people were quicker with a shifter in certain races. After last update I was using the shifter within the arcade section and was just constantly missing gears. It was horrible but then again, I was missing the odd gear or two before the update. Will update tonight and see what it's like in campaign/arcade mode/s.
HAHA I also just read the one saying it will be going back to how it was.
It needs to, they've changed the wrong thing IMO.

My main issue with the penalties is the way they are served in qualifying now. You write off two laps if you pick up a pen and have to serve it on the next lap. It's just wasted time, especially where the default starting position isn't optimal so you have to do a lap to get up to speed or do a U-turn to go back and get the best run. For sure, penalise a short cut for that lap, or anything giving an unfair advantage onto the start of the following lap, but don't kill two laps.

How are you playing on servers if you don't have PSN?

PSN is also for all games and online features not just GT Sport. It's no different to XBox live. If you want to see the pay as you play model, check the iRacing cost structure.

If you can't get high DR and SR then you need to improve, simples. Or blame the Sony/Kaz/PSN/The World for your lack of ability and play something else.

I reckon PSN costs me less than 8p an hour. I'll live with that burden.
