Argh. The dirt tracks, awful, why do they bother.
Broken my all gold run on the challenge stuff.
I'm loving the rally courses, nearly have my Scandinavian flick perfected.

Its the tracks I'm meh with, I think the problem is the analogue steering with a regular controller.

I know I need to spend my mileage point on tuning, but does the money have an actual ingame purpose or is that just my score?

Also can anybody provide a starting tune up for the Mazda Atenza? I can win most beginner and intermediate races with that one level of power and lightening, but not a hope vs the professional driver races. It seems to be solid starting point, like the Lexus 200 in the original game.

You can use them to buy cars and extras in the mileage exchange.

Had a race with the Gp 4 cars last night on the weird shaped oval with the kink (hate that track). Qualified 1st but got shunted off repeatedly and still got the penalties. Came second from last.

Still enjoying the races all in all.

The one make series is like dodgems.

I had an "S" rating until yesterday. One game of TT pinball in the final chicanes (into which I was first) on Alsace dropped that to a "B" as I was smacked up the back and three other cars concertina'd up in a mish mash of ingame physics that must have lasted at least three seconds. I think everyone came out with numerous 10 second penalties.

It seems rubbing, bumping and barging is the norm. and once you're back into B-class races it's a dogfight. I'm back to a "C". That will take a while to get back.

On the licence tests, I've started doing the intermediate ones. On the first row, I've got silvers and gold's so far, a few are 0.1 off the gold time and annoying hehe .

I'm guessing now that if I try for all gold's the prize car is better than having gold's and silvers like in previous games, and if I claim the car now from the bouncing gift icon at the end of the row I don't get another car if I go back and work on getting all gold's.

Is that right?

I think you get a gift car for silver and an additional one for gold (from memory)

At the moment it looks like you just use it to buy cars.

Bear in mind that in previous versions there were numerous cars at 20 million a piece.

To the left of that licence screen there are are outlines of two cars under Gold and Silver sheets. I made the extra effort to keep redoing each test until I scored gold for every test assuming I would get a better prize car. On beginner I got an Grp N Evo and Grp N Vantage for intermediate.

I'm accumulating 4 Evos, half my prize cars.

So far I had just been concentrating on the driving tests (got all gold), and so far done about 5 rows of challenges (all gold), and done around 50% of the circuits (all gold too).
I've spent far too long messing around with liveries (my next one to be finished is the 6R4 Computervision one on a Grp4 Scirocco biggrin

Today I decided to give Sport mode a go, having partly put it off due to expending a crash fest.
I tried two of the races of the day and thoroughly enoyed them!
First I did Interlagos, I only managed to get in 4 or so laps before it started, and ended up 4th on the grid.
I got to 3rd and then 2nd, slowly catching the leader. On the last lap he got caught with some back markers, I managed to catch him and pass on the last but one tight left hander. Then on the last one before the dash to the line he came steaming up the inside, knocked me off and got me a 10 second penalty!
I finished 2nd, but with the extra time I dropped down to third.
A little frustrating, but was pretty pleased for my first go.

2nd race was Dragon Trail. Only got in 3 qualifying laps and got pole by about a second.
Held the lead from start to finish and won, very pleased with that smile

Maybe it was beginners luck to have two clean races, but it has certainly opened up the game a lot more for me.

Edit:
Thinking about it, I might have to do the Computervision livery for the Grp X Golf with big arches as well!

So on the circuit experience for Autodrome Lago Maggiore I struggled with some sections and compared to other PH users was pretty shocking.

On my 3rd attempt at a full lap I got a 2:02.317 (gold is 2:05.600) and the next PH member is 2:04.148.

I currently feel like a driving god and await you all to destroy my time.

I’ll give it a go then, I love a challenge smile
I never normally bother trying to improve it as soon as I get gold!

Likewise unless someone sets a challenge! However looking at the world leaderboards the current top 7 are at 0:08.000!!!
