I have came within half a sec to complete time trial number 22

Ran out of patience and frustrating taking at least 5 mins just to get back to start each time
You fall. Especially when bike rolls all way down hill to poleto bay

despite being in stock car... that was decent!

... the race where we all missed the 1st checkpoint... as I was last it allowed me to slow and get back to get the checkpoint..

... this put me in 2nd... and later go the wrong way with the rest of the field following me.. yes, i think it was my fault! haha...

there was one race where i somehow manage to pick my way through the 1st corner pile up! not sure how i did it!

I'm not sure it was your fault but it was bloody funny as more and more cars piled down the wrong route and crashed into each other. Think I managed to save that video; I missed the first two races but I'm uploading the rest currently.

That was quite entertaining. The Adder was easy to drive consistently which is a massive advantage over the twitch Sultan and Banshee, even if the ultimate lap times are pretty similar.

Enjoyed tonight, a truly open field when you looked at the top 3 per race.

I didn't think to save the recordings of the first couple of races - I was lucky and just got away with a clear track ahead so they were pretty uneventful from my viewpoint anyway. For some reason the PS4 didn't record all of race 3; it missed off the first 1m 40s or so. Had a good dice with Eased on that one though. The rest are complete.

Race 3 (Shark Grand Prix): https://youtu.be/YokDeZzKbCA

Race 4 (Rockford Sprint): https://youtu.be/PlAe8cf5S5w

Race 5 (Lindsay Circus): https://youtu.be/GYvZdWxymCQ (very satisfying overtake of Challenger at 1m 17s, followed very quickly by everyone going the wrong way. Maybe I did follow Arkose laugh ). Great nip and tuck with Daz later on.

Race 6 (Los Santos Int. Raceway): https://youtu.be/WXSuuqxPT8o

Race 7 (Tunnel Run): https://youtu.be/SvyufIWPkUM

Race 8 (Panda Grand Prix): https://youtu.be/QTg_YMKuGrk (had a particularly good dice with Cheshire and Alex on this one)

ETA: Alex, the overtake either side of Joyrider is at dead-on 8mins in the Lindsay Circus race biggrin

yeh, i thought there might be a way through, so went a bit further than needed... the Vacca was actually quite handy even in stock... also one race i wasnt paying attention to the car selection screen and selected the Infernus... looked like a Lambo type car.. near enough... laugh

It was specific cars, but modded (Adder, Banshee 900R, Sultan RS, Vacca and Cheetah). I got the impression a standard Entity was probably the closest match for them out of all the cars you tried.

I really enjoyed using the Vacca, shame it's not competitive against T20 / Zentorno etc otherwise that'd be my super car of choice. Good racing last night, and some cracking tracks, shame about the first checkpoint issues on a couple of them...

That last race was ridiculous. I have never concentrated so much to keep pace with the leaders. Even then the speed difference of the Adder and Banshee told in the end.

Im really disappointed I didn't make it last night, especially for the Sultans and Banshees!
The tracks looked good too.
Loved the last race, that Adder certainly looks like a handful, but faster than I remember it to be on a twisty track.
Were any ideas put forward for next week?

I think Challenger has something planned for next week, but I can't remember what.

I do indeed.

Next week's big thing will be on Saturday (20th), though it's not in need of as much preparation. It'll be two playlists of 5 tracks for Sports Classics - the first ones will use stock cars, and the second playlist is simply 'run what you brung', turn up in whatever you have, from a Tornado to a Stirling GT. Cascos are definitely approved for the engine note. Will do the stock races at 7:00, hopefully finish before 8:00, then we'll have a cruise/car show with our Sports Classics, and then do the 'proper' racing at 8:30.

The week after though (27th) will be the return of the Top Gear challenges. I'll write up a full post about it once I have all the details sorted. Most of it seems to be fairly sorted though.

And yes, the races were awesome. Some great duels with you, Joyrider!

Think something with classic cars then the top gear police car thing the week after.

I've got a few more ideas up my sleeve involving motorbikes, sedans or sports depending in what the majority want.

They certainly were, think I've worn a footprint into my sofa while subconsciously trying to press the accelerator pedal, especially on that race where I just got past you on the finish line

OK, so, here are the rules and regulations for next week's (not this weekend's) event.

PH GTA Top Gear Presents:

Budget Police Cars!

Date: Saturday 27th February @ 7:30 pm (GMT)

Meeting Place: Vinewood Los Santos Customs

Vehicle Rules:

  • Vehicle must be in the Sedans class
  • Maximum spend on the vehicle is $22,000. This includes all modifications EXCEPT neon lights, which can be added for no extra cost
  • Cost breakdown must be submitted to this forum before the event, or at least, a cost-down of your car available before the event starts
  • Try not to bring the real police to the event
  • Vehicle should be themed around a real life police patrol vehicle, which one is entirely your choice.
  • Matching outfit highly recommended. If you can't glitch an LSPD uniform, try a tucked in button-up shirt and suit trousers.
Any questions, let me know. There'll be 5 challenges as normal, all of them within GTA races to avoid the inevitability of Glade's grenades.

There may be a double money on contact missions event for a week from Friday, though the info was pulled from Gamespot where it originally appeared:

Friday Feb 19: Double RP & $ for Trevor Missions, 50% off Jerry Cans.
Saturday Feb 20: Double RP & $ for Ron Missions, 50% off Blazers
Sunday Feb 21: Double RP & $ for Simeon Missions, double $ for High Priority Vehicle Deliveries.
Monday Feb 22: Double RP & $ for Martin Missions, 10% off Stilt Houses.
Tuesday Feb 23: Double RP & $ for Lester Missions, 25% off Lester Services.
Wednesday Feb 24: Double RP & $ for Gerald Missions, 50% off Micro SMGs and Machine Guns.
Thursday Feb 25: Double RP & $ for all Contact Missions.

Bit odd to promote contact missions when freemode stuff is clearly their focus, but maybe people aren't playing them at all now so Rockstar is trying to get us back into them.

Am I right in thinking the 22k limit doesn't include buying a car?
Does the limit include visual mods (apart from neons) or just performance mods?
