Ha, oh yes , definitely Elan, a slight slip. Although I painted it red so probably has a big speed advantage now that might not be allowed !!
Rosso Corsa? cop

Well after thrashing the escort once more this evening I got a little closer, but upon seeing you had improved even more!! I opted to try something different... Still not the lotus just yet, but I think I have a potential to get closer to you in said new car.. not sure if I'll be on tonight though, maybe tomorrow.

It's one hell of a time though clap

By 'closer to me' i am fully prepared for you to soon be 3 secs ahead of me hehe

It's been a fun track though, thank you.

By Sunday i'm just hoping to be in the fight for the manual M title.

Lol I wish! Nah, trust me, after the various cars I've dabbled with so far, that time is excellent, closer means hopefully within a few tenths or certainly sub half a second.

You are mighty on the final section, that's the hardest part for me, so easy to mess it up.

Its a ridiculous time laugh
I thought i was doing well to get a 48, it was a scruffy 48 though so the car I used has serious potential, I may get another chance tomorrow but will not be on again after that so I'm ripe for the taking.

The Alfa GTA. It's good that there's enough vehicle choice to keep things close Instead of the Hoonigan RS200 situation.

Finally got round to having a go tonight. Tricky course! First go in the Datsun 510 but struggled with understeer so jump onto the Elan. Won't be troubling the top ten this week, some great times guys.

I started with a Datsun 510 and struggled with understeer too. So changed to an Escort which has worked better especially with the settings mentioned earlier. I think I can still get maybe a second out of it with a lot more practice but I don’t think I’ll be on again.

Yes I agree, it is what I had hoped given the larger selection this week.

I had been with the 73 escort all week as my previous tune in the GTA made me assume it was not the right one. Still a few more cars I want to try yet though, the week is young.

On stats the fiesta should be good too but I couldn't get it to work for me. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow.

Done for tonight.

You'll be amazed how quickly you improve doing this, I certainly have.
Not sure I’d say quickly, but I did improve. Thanks to various set up advice on here I took around 6 seconds off. That will have to do or I’ll be on there all night!

Tricky to get a clean run! Tried Imp and 131 so far, can’t even break 3 minutes!! What’s wrong with me? Also, how do you view leaderboard?
See if you can find a tuning combo of engine/drivetrain that makes use of all the 843 points you are allowed.
I notice you're on 835 at the moment and maxing it out up to the limit could be worth a fair bit of time.

On the 131, try 4wd with full rally tyres and adjustable differential. If you adjust the acceleration on the front and rear diff you can make it easier to drive on the gravel (something like 20% front / 50% rear accel and power balance in the middle at 50%) This will make getting on the power without the rear stepping out more manageable.

Running the tyres at a low pressure will help too, maybe 22-23psi. Just go steady-ish on the first bit of tarmac until they build up some temp.
Great help and advice there, many thanks! Think I got a clean 58 and an incident 57 which will do me.

Has brought Forza back to life a bit this week, stumbling onto this thread!

9 seconds off the front, FFS.

The Fulvia drives lovely but clearly isn't a front runner. Last opportunity to have a run is tonight.

I don't think I'll be in the points this week, my Lotus might go a bit faster but I don't think I can get a lot more out of my time with it. Unless there's an amazeballs car I really get on with that I haven't tried yet, I'm just aiming for a sub 2:50. Are a lot of you fitting the 1.6 turbo rally to whatever they're driving, or is that a bad idea. It comes up a lot in engine swaps.

I don't seem to get on well with the 1.6 rally engine, should be good based on the stats but it seems to have no top end, pretty good at low speeds but runs out of puff higher up especially with aero on. So I've not used it any of my tunes so far.

I don't think there is much more time to be had from my GTA, very close between that and Sp4ce's Elan. Maybe if I had a good long session to dial into it I could save some time, it's the last bit where I reckon I could find time but it's a very difficult section and you have to have a perfect run to get there.

The Sunbeam is a good car aj, I have the I6 engine as I too don't like the rally 1.6t.
I'm adamant that car could be at the front with someone a bit more capable as I messed up a lot of my run.

I found the rally engine gutless aswell, they run into a brick wall at higher speeds. I'm also at the diminishing returns stage with the Elan.

If i don't find the time for any more tuning session/laps i'm more than happy with what i've got out of it so far. It's been a good battle.
