Euro Truck Simulator 2

On my laptop I can operate it either using the graphics card from NVidia or the inbuilt Intel graphics.

It runs using the Intel but can be a bit jerky on higher settings and steering control seems a bit laggy. With the NVidia card in use then every setting on max it runs fine though kicks out a fair bit of heat but processor temps are well under control.

Likewise with World of tanks. Game is playable, just, with the Intel but it needs a decent graphics card. More so than the ETS2.

Oooops after my 100% damage crash I now appear to be the least productive of all my drivers, even the ones off the bottom of this list

No problems here - and a good (reasonable) spec for anything (we use these systems for driving 1080p visuals in our simulators...)

Core i5 3570k
8GB Ram
Intel SSD (can't remember the model) with a bunch of others as storage (since it's not needed for the simulator)
EVGA Geforce 680

The i5 3570 is a cracking processor for a games machine, as you don't really need a huge amount of cores (since not many games really seem to bother with multi-threading).

I'm running it on a Dell Laptop that has NVidia graphics built in. Not sure whether its a dedicated card etc but seems to work quite well.

Question though, do I need to be worried about the amount of heat it kicks out when running the game??

Not unless you're running it on your lap, then it gets painful!

Seriously, my old ASUS ROG laptop used to kick out so much it made the laminate curl on the desk, and it's still going strong with my successor!

How do you set up a second garage?
I have 1 5 bay garage, with 3 drivers. Want to set up a second one.

Do you have to wait for the option to be unlocked? (Currently level 10)

No you have to drive to a city and find a garage (they all have one I believe) and buy it.

When you in a city, on a job or not, look for the garage sign. Just drive over it and stop, it will give you the option to buy. If you don't have enough funds then it will say so.

Why do you want a new garage if you haven't fully utilised your existing garage?

how do I verify the game? got a file called Key, but it seems to be gibberish?

Not sure which version you are playing, but they are Volvos by name and model number (FH etc). Did a google search for volvo valiant and it seems to be a different model truck on ETS2.

If you've bought it through steam, it'll be unlocked and ready to play. No verification necessary.

You need to install the 1.3.1 update, as it changes the names to their proper ones (all except Mercedes as far as I remember)

Depending on if it's a steam game or a purchased disc, you will either get the update delivered via steam, or you can get it from http://www.eurotrucksimulator2.com/update.php

Thanks. I haven't bought it yet as I'm using the mac demo (I think it's some wine skin version whatever that means). I'll get it from steam and stick it on my PC laptop when I get back to the UK I think.

Managed to figure out I could acsess it via the "STEAM" folder, and all is well!

This is taking ages to get anywhere. The drivers I've employed are rubbish and lazy so I've sacked one for not pulling his weight and then sold his truck just to spite him (that'll teach him!).

It would be better if it had a multiplayer mode so we could have a PH convoy
