Battlefield 1 - PS4 chat and banter
Discussion
I have just purchased this and its installed ready for tonight after the football. I have never really played Battlefield but I did have a brief go of Hardline which I hated. I have always been COD but since MW3 they have been wk so I am hoping ill enjoy this one.
Fully expecting to get my arse handed to me though.

I only played a very limited amount tonight with a very bad connection and lag. But thoughts so far are that it is a very good looking game, love the sound and it creates a good atmosphere. I think there's too much going on with the online UI. To many menus to flick through while also trying to figure out what class to use and customise then remember to hold x to respawn rather than wait...
The gameplay seems to have slowed down, or rather have more weight to it than BF4. Found it very hard to get used to but I know the key to Battlefield is map knowledge, so I'll wait to see how I feel about it when I know the game well. Also it seem like there is a lot of COD influence as I had thought before. No real bullet drop for snipers, seems to be leaning toward "twitch" shooting rather than more "tactical" shooting.
Anyone else think that the "support" the attacking team gets in operations to be a tad overpowered? My first game, I#d say 15 of my 30 deaths were from the bloody airship!

There is a 2.4GB patch available.
Edited to add that I can't find any patch notes available. Hopefully they have fixed the squad joints no issue and added the ability to quit between rounds.
That was a pain in the ass. I hit triangle last night to quit and let the background load the battle packs and scores etc but in doing so, once you accept the quit it would leave you in an endless black loading screen!Edited to add that I can't find any patch notes available. There appears to be a severe lack of medics in the game in it's early days unless playing with a squad of people you know/are talking to. Liking the touch of being able to lock yourself in the fortress turret rooms as well
played a few hours now, really enjoying it as a sniper, i just sit back a bit and try and snipe people from about 100m away, if you can get side on to the enemy and get some good cover you can usually get 2-3 good kills and a few assists, before they get to you.
bloody reloading after each shot and it being a two shot kill unless a head shot is hard but im enjoying it so far.
need to work out how to change guns etc at main menu, too much to be farting about with.
