Only issue is with the Playseat Challenge chair I need to pay £40 for a small bit of metal to fit a gearshifter. Plus the gearshifter itself is extra, so what is the clutch for in that bundle? Can't seem to find a bundle with all that included though.
I bought the bits to mount my th8a to my playseat challenge from wickes and Halfords for a fiver.

Small right angle bracket and smallest (38mm?) U-bolt clamp. You just need to be able to drill a couple holes.

Mounts up solid and seat still folds up no issues

PC's like it cold, less cooling to do. If it's very cold there would be a rick of condensation when it warms up but not very likely I would have though.
Mine is in my garage, its been boarded out so some insulation, not just brick but I'm not sure what as I didn't do it. The door is sealed as well.
A portable heater keeps it warm enough to use.

Thanks for that, I thought there must be a better solution. I'm useless but I've got a pal who is good at that stuff so I'll give it a go.

The shifter dropped in price to £88 today but missed it and now back up again:

Hopefully get one when the price drops again.

How do you find the chair? Looks just what I'm after but is it robust and sturdy enough with everything fitted?

I really like it - took a few goes to set it up with the angle that I like (you can't tell just by sitting in it quickly) but now it's set I find it really comfy even after a few hours straight.

Its robust enough for me - there is a little wobble in the steering up and down but not enough to spoil any enjoyment. I don't run the steering too heavy (like 4 it of 10 normally) as i find the T300RS capable of being quite heavy but wouldn't be worried about running higher if you wanted to. I'm just under 12 stone and have no concerns at all all-out how sturdy the actual chair is.

The standard method of fixing the pedals to the floor piece (big Velcro strap that goes right round) is rubbish tho especially if you have a stiff brake pedal - way too much flex / compliance in there. Also the strap doesn't fit around the t3pa pedal set. Again another really simple cheap mod (couple quid) is to use a flat metal plate under the playseat floor piece and then clamp the pedal set down onto that plate. It's now rock solid (and doesn't slide down when folded up anymore either).

If anyone can tell me how to host pics then I am happy to show a few snaps.

Also, have you tried box.co.uk for the shifter? They sometimes have reasonable deals on

If you're interested in any of the Fanatec gear they are currently running daily auctions all they way up until Christmas.

https://www.fanatec.com/eu-en/calendar/calendar

Some people have got some absolute bargains, for example the v3i pedals which normally retail for 600 Euros went for 111 Euros.

Would you believe some are even clipped to the frame!? I started off trying to be really neat but given the chair gets put away daily and the Tele gets moved I just can't be bothered biggrin

I'm just finishing off building my first ever sim rig. Mounting the bass shakers tonight, waiting for some more PLA material so I can print some custom pedal covers.

I'll post it, once it's complete. It will be completed in the next 2 weeks.

Teaser photo!

You could put wheels and an engine on that and turn it into a go-kart without much trouble :-)

Very nice, I think my next step is getting a frame made from the aluminium sections (as I can't weld, although I suppose would be a good way to learn...!),

2018 is going to involve stepping up my sim racing hardware a bit, I think it's been long enough with the G25 now hehe

Question for people with the playseat challenge, can the bar that the wheel sits on be removed so that the seat can be used as a gaming ghair when not using the wheel?

As the space saving over the evolution is appealing but atleast the evolution can have the wheel stand removed so not in way when not using a wheel.

Yes it can be removed fairly easily. There's a little sprung fixing that pops out into a groove in the frame when installed. Just push this little fixing in with a finger and then the bar pulls out forwards
