Is it possible to upgrade the base Gamepass version to get the extras and the early unlock? I can only see that you have to buy the ultimate version outright.
Yes, you need the premium upgrade bundle. £35Xbox site won't get past payment screen
In all seriousness the upgrade for £35 does include the expansions when released.
Yeah so far it's superb. The first few hours tend to have quite a lot of hand-holding, so it feels weird going back to the start when I've been playing FH4 in 'multimillionaire freedom mode' for over a year..
But it looks superb, I think most notable the terrain and environment is so much more detailed, the handling feels a bit better, it's still not a simulation racer but it feels good.
I've had a handful of crashes to the desktop, but in terms of actual performance I'm pleasantly surprised, given that it's graphically upgraded quite a lot, I'm getting at least the same framerate as FH4 at 3840x1600 with everything on Ultra. There's a few minor bugs like the Forzathon shop not working but they're aware of these issues and should be all fixed other the weekend.
Overall I'm really enjoying it, it feels like a new game, the map is really good so far, it definitely feels more vast than FH4. Music is the same as before - I either keep Hospital Records on, or mute and have Spotify in the background

Love the new brake model, car sounds and gearbox choices!
Drivatars are a pain at the moment, will probably get better when they get more data. Racing against other people is really janky but again that's pretty normal for new online games. Plenty of missing descriptions etc. but that'll get sorted pretty soon I'm sure.
For PC folks, I'm getting least 20% slower fps for the same settings, so I've had to turn things down a bit on a 1060, but obviously there's been a step up in world fidelity/objects etc. anyway.

I knew that 3080Ti would come in useful for something Although if I get anywhere near the 140fps @ 1440p I was getting with the 3070, then I'll be happy...until I find a nice, high refresh, 4k monitor in the Black Friday sales and see everything drop to 60fps
ETA, benchmark returns 93fps with everything set at Extreme (i.e. the Extreme preset, plus all the ones that are ultra changed to Extreme where possible, FXAA on, 8 x MAAA, and SSOA) @ 1440p.
Pure preset benchmarks, with a simple app restart between them:
- Extreme (all settings manually set to max) = 93fps
- Extreme (ray tracing high) = 104fps
- Ultra (ray tracing high) = 120fps
- High (ray tracing medium) = 143fps
- Medium (ray tracing off) = 144fps
- Low (ray tracing off) = 144fps (FH5 graphic settings won't allow uncapped)

Is it worth getting (graphics aside) at full price if you have fh4?
I wouldn't have paid the full £89.99 for the Premium pack, but was happy with the £34.99 I paid as I already had Game Pass.Definitely feel it's worthwhile, even just for the new location and beautiful graphics...will probably put a couple of hundred hours into this as well!
Once/if it leaves Game Pass I might buy the base hame cheaply to ensure I own copy.

If it's anything like Forza 7 (which recently left GP), Microsoft will gift you the base game once it leaves the store if you purchased any DLC for it.Definitely feel it's worthwhile, even just for the new location and beautiful graphics...will probably put a couple of hundred hours into this as well!

Got hold of a Series X last week so will be shelling out the £35 to get this now.
