Euro Truck Simulator 2
Discussion
Currently downloading the demo version, to see if the computer can run it before buying. I used to procrastinate with Train Simulator, so hopefully this is a bit more involving!
ETA - Damn! Program won't even boot, immediate message saying there is a problem and the program has been closed. Don't think the hardware is up to scratch

This is taking ages to get anywhere. The drivers I've employed are rubbish and lazy so I've sacked one for not pulling his weight and then sold his truck just to spite him (that'll teach him!).
It would be better if it had a multiplayer mode so we could have a PH convoy
heh, one of the first 2 drivers I hired returned £42 profit! It would be better if it had a multiplayer mode so we could have a PH convoy
mental,
but I'm being kind- hopefully see some improvements shortly.
Wonder if tehy're annoyed cos their trucks are painted blue rather than my suave Black
When I reinstalled the game onto a reformatted drive from Cd initially it asks for the product key.
Then downloaded thw update to 1.3.1 and it asked for the product key again.
I have read a forum post somewhere, either here or more likely on the ETS2 forum which explained exactly where to find and how to resurrect the old saved game.

FYI:
I cannot remember exactly where you will find this, but it should be self-explanatory when you find the relevant folder/file. Look in C:\Users\"Your user name"\Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\profiles\ I am pretty certain in there you will find two profiles, and if not go to the next file of "save". One will be your demo game, one will be your current game - suss it out by the date modified. Delete the demo (or copy and paste elsewhere if you're not sure. In my case it was the older file), then reboot the game - it should revert you back to your proper game.

Argh! Applied the patch to bring it to 1.3.1(?) and I got a strange request to re-authenticate with the product key. Once done it had lost my savegames and replaced them with my 'demo' savegames.
I had this, the save's not lost, fear not!- Previously played the demo via Steam with one profile/save game
- Installed the full game from DVD (outside of steam) and started playing with a new profile/save game
- Installed the patch
- Lost my 'full game' save

So how do you deal with this?
Just in time urgent delivery Dortmund to Metz. Right at the start of the shift, about 3 hours in hand to the latest delivery time in Metz. Get to the motorway junction at Dortmund and
3 hours later, so by now late and
Yes I haven't moved a inch.
Several hours later and now I can't even make Metz in my hours somebody from the right stops and makes space so the red car in front of me can go, I went for the same gap, ahem, somewhat less successfully. Carnage. FFS. I don't have a screenshot sadly.

I told my non car enthusiast mate about this a week or go or so and both of us are now hooked on it.
Just got back from a six hour sesh on it round his actually, think until I get it, going to work as a team on it.
So far we have a fleet of three ovloV FH16s in our one garage, our personal cab is a Globetrotter in blue, with two cheapish standard sleeper cabs for our drivers Bujo and Irvin (based in Germany btw).
Next on the agenda is a new garage I think and then maybe look into either another truck for us, maybe a nice Scania V8
Does anyone know if you can online play it, so for example when I buy it and set up own profile I could be a rival company to my mate or work for our company?

I hate you all.
Read this thread, downloaded demo, drove some tomatoes from Liverpool to Cardiff and I love it.
Don't know why other truck drivers are so slow like, trucks have awesome handling it seems.
Can anyone suggest the best mods to get/where to get them? Is there anything to speed up the AI trucks?

I went for a UK based garage as I wanted my trucks to have UK plates (sad I know), although I've since bought another garage in Munich. The only mod I've done is to remove the speed limit, and have ended up just going everywhere flat out Hustling many tons of artic down A roads at 90+ is surprisingly fun, although I've had a few bad accidents doing that

Save, then reload. All the existing traffic disappears. Also works well if you're coming up to some stationary traffic and know you can't stop in time.Just in time urgent delivery Dortmund to Metz.
