Has anyone got the PS4 FFB meanings but in laymans terms?
Means absolutely fk all to me without a better explanation!

I have to say the manual leaves alot to be desired. Almost like its aimed at developers rather than Joe Public.
Still, messed about with my cheapo T100 and get round most circuits OK, just wish I knew exactly what I was adjusting on it!

There are a few different approaches coming through at the mo - the set up below pretty much matches mine. Using it seems to make most cars less twitchy - I still struggle with the Merc 190 DTM and the Sierra though....

So I added 1 thing I never use on a racing game - traction control (I know I know...) and the game is so much more accessible. Drove an Aston GT online around Brno (great track btw) and it was planted, then drove a Ginetta around Spa and it was just as good though I still managed to spin off 2 or 3 times in an 8 lap race but more down to driver error than a dodgy controller.

Steering deadzone - 5
Steering sensitivity - 35
Throttle deadzone - 10
Throttle sensitivity - 30
Brake deadzone - 10
Brake sensitivity - 15
Clutch deadzone - 10
Clutch sensitivity - 60

Speed sensitivity - 65
Controller sensitivity - 30
Ffb - 0

Input mode - 3

Advanced - on
Soft steering - on
Visual filtering - on
Opposite lock - off

I picked this up Friday and after a fair few hours I am starting to get it. I'm using an Xbox One and read something about reinstalling it so the day 1 patch applies properly and this seems to have made things far less twitchy (uninstall game, reinstall with disc but delay applying the patch until the first install is fully complete).

I discovered a great feature last night which is real assists, eg what assists the car would have in the real world.

I felt the same after my experience with a pad, using the wheel now and it is a much better game. Looking at the leaderboard times though, there are a lot of people in the top 20 who use a pad so I think getting the setup for wheel/pad is key.

I'm really enjoying it to be honest! smile
Me too, but it might just be the novelty for now smile

I seem to be able to get around in one piece with a pad on default, even feeling quite good about some corners. I think this is something to do with learning restraint on Assetto corsa. However I think PCars attracts too many arcade racers who just want to use you as an extra set of brakes or a moving wall to turn against and feel like they have driven a good corner. Which is pretty annoying. The same happens in AC of course but there really are some idiots in PCars.

Still, the game itself is very good so far, but I expect I'll be heading back to AC in a few weeks.

I did best last night in the capri and mustang boss, pretty site it's because being lairy rear wheel drives you have to bet restrained.

It was in the spam folder, god knows why.

But just went to redeem it and says may not be correct or no longer valid.
Who do i shout at amazon to fix it?
did you go to http://www.dlc-projectcars.com and enter the code on email then to get another bigger code to enter within steam to get the cars?

Really impressed with it.

Been a paying supporter for a while but hadn't touched it for about 3-4 months before release. Downloaded the release version through Steam yesterday. Started off with a Megane 265 at Oulton Park and instantly liked it, track was exactly as I remember when I did a trackday there.

Then I decided to try the P1 at Silverstone and after spinning exiting the pit lane (put my foot down in 3rd and spun it on cold tyres) I managed to get the hang of it, love how the back twitches when you go full throttle in a low gear, exactly how my friend's 400hp MR2 reacted when on full boost.

Decided to try career mode out with some familiar ground, the Clio Cup car, seriously impressed. Did a full length race at Donington, had been some contact and on the 2nd to last corner, on the last lap while I was in 2nd place the car overheated and the engine died. Was gutted but impressed with it. I rate this much higher than Assetto Corsa, get on with this alot more.

has anyone got a good set up for controller?
I tried the one from GTplanet and its even worse than stock, I seriously cannot enjoy this game, It feels like i have no control over the car, If it loses even the slightly bit of grip, i correct then it just snaps back to centre and i go spinning, Turning into corners I feel to connection from my input to what the game is doing. It feels terrible
I'm having the same issue. Slight break in traction and it's a passenger ride off into the scenery. banghead

I wasn't expecting to jump straight on it and win everything, But I think I should be able to do a smooth lap at reasonable speed safe in the knowledge that it isn't going to randomly spit me off the track

AC is great, but it is PC only, PCars is across all platforms so FFB has to be changeable as each system uses it differently hence the wheel support problems.

The FFB is there, you just need to set it up properly.
They needed to code it properly for each platform out of the box then. Giving everyone hundreds of setting for FFB with no explanation and saying sort it out yourself is crap. I don't want to spend all my time trying to make the cars give me accurate feedback I want to go driving.

I'm really anjoying this so far, but would love to try it with a wheel - I haven't used one for years. Can anybody recommend a reasonable priced wheel for PC?

So i used this setting from a thread on Steam

Steering dead zone: 0
Steering Sensitivity: 30

Throttle dead zone: 0
Throttle Sensitivity: 50

Brake dead zone: 0
Brake Sensitivity: 30

Clutch dead zone: 0
Clutch Sensitivity: 45

Speed Sensitivity: 75
Controller Filtering: 50

Force Feedback: 100
Advanced: Off

Its made the game just about bareable but still not great. I managed to get 6 laps in a clio cup without spinning or crashing, but there stills seems to be no connection from controller input to the same. I can barely stay on line. I even turned the racing line on in game and tried to follow it but the steering input just does not compute.

Ive managed to catch small drifts etc but still the issue of correction then it grips and its like it just shuts up power to the controller, Nothing i do stops the ensuing spin and the ridiculous sinking sad the grass seems to be

The trick with the Clio is to boot it as soon as the back steps out through lift off oversteer, the diff then drags it through the corner. Even works when the tyres are cold which I have found means it is very tricky to keep on the straight and narrow despite taking it easy.

Go into the 'Edit Assignments' tab for the main controller settings and assign the pedals in there (select accelerator, press pedal etc), then go back and calibrate them.

Seriously you can only just manage 6 laps in a Clio without spinning?

I can't see what all the complaints are about. Sure the controller needs setting up, something I have zero interest in spending hours working out. But after a quick search online, found some settings with good reviews and its transformed the game. First time out in an RS500 and I was spinning all over the place, even in a straight line so I started again and literally just drove round slowly but gradually increasing the pace, exactly how I'd imagine I'd drive an RS500 for the first time in real life if I ever got the chance!

The handling on the Clio's is perfect. Having raced fwd hatches round most UK circuits the realism is spot on, it just takes time. As someone says above, if the backend goes, give it the beans and in most cases it'll pull it straight, just as it does with a fwd car. They've got that right, just s they have with the lift off oversteer.
