Hmm, the final quest I completed was No gods, no masters and the reward for this is 'end game'!

I've completed it a few times, each time I get the credits and that has really plipping annoyed me. That and the supid levelling system of the Bethesda Fallout games is my biggest gripe, I wish you could level by experience like in the Elder Scolls games.

Oh, you know we touched on a Borderlands, which is a similar genre to Fallout?

The Game of the Year Edition (which has all 4 DLCs included) is on a special 75% off offer on Steam right now - so that's £7.50 for the lot. An insane bargain.

I've already got Borderlands and the DLC on the Xbox unfortunately, brilliant game though, especially in co-op.

I've tried borderlands a few times, but to me its about 20% as good as fallout 3 and nv.

What annoys me is everything respawns. So you do a mission on the map, shoot everything, collect whatever you had to collect. Then you complete the mission. But then, next time you have to go to the same place, all the baddies that you killed before are back.

Also you have to shoot the bad guys with 1000's of rounds to kill em. I can see the appeal but everything takes too long. Im on about level 15, probably not far enough in to completely judge but they are my thoughts at the mo. I'll keep trying and see if it improves.

Well, Borderlands is less serious than Fallout, less 'realistic'. I agree that the respawing is annoying but you get used to it. And if you need loads of rounds at even level 15 then, as Marcus always says, "you need a better gun"

Oh, back on topic, the Steam sale at the moment also has Fallout New Vegas: Honest Hearts at 25% off, making it £5.61

Not totally sure if I can be bothered even at that price though

I'd wait, it might get reduced more later in the sale.

To the guy struggling with Borderlands: Buy the most powerful shotgun you can then run up to baddies and shoot them point blank in the face. Job done.

Good call! It's now 70% off which makes it £2.24

I'm almost tempted at that price.

An absolutely huge update for this was released the other day. I was meaning to get back into the game as I played 26 hours and was really enjoying it, but had to stop because of university work. This seems like a good time to start playing again. The list of fixes is enormous!

Oh sod it. £2.24 is less than the price of a pint of beer. May as well go for it.

Edit: Only I can't seem to play it right now as "the Steam servers are too busy to handle [my] request"

Everyone is getting Portal 2 for £14.99 I reckon, the servers must be going bonkers over it.

I notice that the "Old World Blues" DLC has just been released on Steam. Anyone know if it is any good?

Ive been playing the new DLC on and off for a few days, not finished yet. Nothing groundbreaking. Much more difficult than the normal mohave desert though, adds a abit of a challenge to a lvl 40 player.

Does anyone else feel that their heart just really isn't in these DLCs? The plot (such as it was) in "Honest Hearts" was paper-thin as were the characters and "Dead Money" got panned.

Ok, "Operation: Anchrorage" wasn't exactly plot heavy and the less said about "Mothership Zeta" the better, but F:NV really seems tired and lacklustre compared to Fo3.

We really need another "Point Lookout" to make us care a little.
