RE: GT6 to feature Goodwood hillclimb
Discussion
The lack of decent car noises in GT5 always bothered me tbh, and when playing with a controller (don't have anywhere to put a steering wheel) Forza feels so much more connected and you always get a good idea of the grip levels with the controllers great feedback and I think the pad design is naturally much better for racing games.
GT5 left me cold and having had a go with a steering wheel at my mates house I thought traction could be broke too easily, even my mate said it was 'like driving on glass'.
I guess if you to liking the two games one would be a clinic and effective mclaren mp4-12c and the other an emotive and thrilling ferrari 458 Italia... I'm sure you can place the game with the car

This was my reaction when I saw it on Twitter too..
The Goodwood hill, but no Brands Hatch, Donington, Snetterton, Oulton, Thruxton, Cadwell, Mallory, Knockhill, I could go on. What's with PD's complete denial of the existence of circuits here? Having Silverstone at last is appeasing me slightly, but only SLIGHTLY when it took so outrageously long and bloody Dunsfold was in there first.
In fact, the utter unwillingness to include a reasonable number of real circuits has always pissed me off nearly as much as the hopeless sound model. Why insist on rehashing old fictional circuits and arcadey fake city loops when you could leave them as they were and actually scan real ones? It's like they have no idea how many race drivers would use a good simulator to learn circuits. Mental.

It has to be remembered that GT isn't just for us in the UK. Although it would be great to have some of the smaller circuits, especially Cadwell, I doubt very much that alot of the rest of the world's GT players will have ever even heard of circuits like Cadwell and Oulton Park so it doesn't make alot of commercial sense for PD to bother spending hours to reproduce a circuit that only the majority of it's players will have heard of. There are other countries to cater for too.The Goodwood hill, but no Brands Hatch, Donington, Snetterton, Oulton, Thruxton, Cadwell, Mallory, Knockhill, I could go on. track doesn't look wide enough to pull McRae style doughnuts on Lord March's front garden
(does gt5 let you go on off track these days without bringing the car to a almost dead stop??)
I never understood in the last few gens of the game why they were so obsessed with making the cars look neigh on realistic, but more than happy for it to sound like a child had reproduced the engine sounds?

I know - most of my post was talking about real circuits in general, anywhere in the world. There simply aren't anywhere near enough included, and I can't work out why. Plenty of other franchises manage to include real circuits by the dozen, yet the largest and most successful of them all just doesn't. GT5 has nine real circuit locations (excl. Dunsfold), plus two DLC. Doesn't that strike anyone else as being absolutely hopeless?I listed all those British circuits because any of them would be more appropriate to add than Goodwood, especially with a couple having been Grand Prix circuits as well, yet the eternally odd judgement of PD decides not.

My vote would go for Thruxton though .
I too, was thinking of six-cylinder Triumph Spitfire coupes when I read the title!
Never understood the whole console/game rivalry. Both Forza and GT have their strengths and weaknesses. To me, the simple solution was to buy both!
Disappointed it will be PS3 only, but I don't plan on buying the next gen consoles until at least the first price drop; I'd be a sucker to spend $400-500 on a new PS4/Xbox One when I know in six months they'll probably halve the price and give it a terabyte of storage, not to mention all the initial bugs will have been worked out by then. Like all the poor fools who must have the new iGroan the moment it comes out!
But I digress....
My one wish for GT6 is that all the car models are new, or at least up to GT5 "premium" levels. I thought that PD using car models from GT4 was cheap of them, especially since it took them forever to get GT5 to market.
Anybody know if this is the case?

Don't forget that GT5 had more Premium model cars than Forza had total, iirc. The older models are just extra dressing for utter car nerds like me who want as many as possible in the garage. It'd be nice to have all 1200 in premium state but I'm happier to have some of those in a lower res than not at all.Anybody know if this is the case?

Not even close, GT5 has 200 premium cars, Forza4 over 500 carsHaving seen the GT6 Goodwood demo at the FOS this weekend I'd say PD either have massive framerate issues, or the PS3 they were playing it on was broke, very jumpy. Graphically the cars look great, but like GT5 the scenery and tracks are somewhat bland. That never really bothered me. I haven't played it, but I LOVED GT5's physics, can only assume this is better. What PD needs to do is ditch the "standard cars" (I could never bring myself to play them unless I had to) and spend more time on tracks and premium cars. And sort out the abysmal online mode and menus!
