Carmo and Colin had a tremendous dual, which made for entertaining viewing.

Sam’s battle with me looks as fun as it was, but I feel sorry for you. You almost had that race won…

Final race of the season decided on the final lap – quality way to finish.

both battles were good as both cars in each battle were so different how how they drive, was also good a few positions had to go down to the wire to be decided in the end.

season 4 should be even better as the cars are more evenly match at the lower pp

That crash compilation is good, the Alfa arriving on the scene completely sideways at the Nordschleife cracked me up hehe and kudos to whoever managed to turn the red GT-R round five or six times in the wet, catch it facing the right way and just carry on!

I did think our little escapade at the Sarthe would get in, Colin, where we both went for a play in the sandpit at Indianapolis.. Complete with raucous laughter in the background rofl

The highlights were great! The start of race two is quality, half the time the wide shots just look like one car, but it is in fact me with you glued to my exhaust biggrin especially enjoyed how, in the long left-hander after the bridge, I go too wide and let you get door-to-door on the inside, but then after a couple of laps learn to tuck in earlier and mess up your line! Looking back, my decision to let you go when I did was definitely the right one - you were right on the inside, going faster, and well deserving so if I'd tried to block you again it would have probably caused an accident. Damn nearly got you back on the hairpin exit, too! Cracking bit of racing, I really enjoyed that.

It's clear to see how thoroughly Carmo had me at the end, he was far faster, though I made a far bigger mistake at the start of the last lap than I remembered! No worries, I didn't feel I'd "earnt" that win anyway, it was only inherited by bad luck.

Brilliant race though smile

At that point, it was my time to run and hide...as fast as possible! biggrin

You were fun to try and overtake, that's for sure. I didn't mind you taking away my line, you defended very well without excessively chopping. Autumn Ring is also a hard track to pass on, many corners lead into each other with few hard braking zones.

I hear the Alfa was an absolute handful at Nurburgring, fortunately some wet weather testing had convinced me to leave mine at home hehe

..... not that the Gallardo was much better in the end. That one crash lasted so long my punctures got punctures.

right kiseca here's my camaro setup:

Car: Camaro SS '10

Parts:

oil change
rigidity improvement
window weight reduction
full chassis weight reduction
engine tuning stage 3
sports ecu
race air filter
fully cust gearbox
twin plate clutch
semi racing flywheel
carbon propeller shaft
fully cust lsd
fully cust suspension
racing softs of course

Setup:

Gears:

1st = 3.156
2nd = 2.274
3rd = 1.728
4th = 1.371
5th = 1.136
6th = 0.982
final gear = 2.876
max speed = 124

should get max speed (top right) showing as 220 mph

LSD:

Initial toque = 10
Acceleration = 20
braking = 10

Suspension:

ride height = front -10 rear -5
spring rate = front 10.0 rear 11.0
damps extension = front 5 rear 5
damps compression = front 5 rear 5
anti-roll bars = front 4 rear 4
camber = front 2.0 rear 2.0
toe = front 0.0 rear 0.2

Brakes:

front = 6 rear = 5

and my fastest time on autumn ring was 1:13.9 iirc
1:14.03 in the Camaro tonight with tyre wear turned off. I got 1:14.24 in the 8C just before.

I was surprise how similar the cars felt. Ultimately I found the Camaro was better on the brakes, the nose is just a bit more positive, and I could get on the power harder and sooner, so I was gaining time on corner exit.

So i'd have to say the car made a difference but the driver more so, both in driving and setup ability.

The Camaro also felt just a touch tauter, perhaps that rigidity improvement mod also made a difference. The 8C doesn't have it.

when i first tested it i was quite surprised how well it handled but its not the only only yank tank that can keep up with the m3's but it seems others are starting to use the american cars since i first used the camaro which pleases me smile , even f1 commented how good it was in rome iirc but seems we are very close skill wise so we should be having a few battles in season 4 smile

I remember that well. I passed you down the pit straight, but you stayed close to me and almost passed me down the back straight, when you kindly lifted off into the fast right hander.

Your Camaro was fast at every track. I remember finding it hard to shake you off whilst I was in an M3 CSL, in practice for season three at Monaco. smile

Another plus one to that. Very well organised, lots of fun, everything ran smoothly and the rules - the three cars and tyre choices and all that - really did work well together. The championship was competitive, well designed, well implemented and well presented.

Also a thank you to all the racers. There were a lot of fantastic, lengthy battles at just about every event and the racing was always fair. A little bit of paint swapping (my brakepoint fails probably had some major part swapping too - sorry!) but you were all fair and patient and I must say you all made this a very enjoyable first championship season for me. I had an absolute ball, I think both the organisation and the participants combined have given this championship the perfect mix of fun and competition, so a big thank you to everyone!
