Sorry to bail on you guys, but I just got fed up with the dedicated server. So many problems, discontinued development, lack of support, etc etc. Besides, rFactor may be released any day now. Also, rFactor will run on lower-end machines. It has DX7-and-up support. Check it out for yourselves. If you like it, I'd be interested in getting to league action myself.

The more the merrier Sammie! I've looked at rFactor a bit but finding any concrete information on when it will be out is like looking for the proverbial needle...

I'll buy it, and GTL, and race whichever one we all decide on in the end!

I've had a go at the online demo (on my own). The cars were a bit of a turn off though, some sort of chavvy Japanese hatchback. So I hope there's more choice in the full game and I've heard about a lot of add-ons too.

I still had to turn the detail down a lot on my machine but I didn't see a DX option (I think I was defaulted to DX9) but then it is the demo.

Maybe a test run with the rFactor demo might be in order to give it a good testing?

Seems to be some annoyed purchasers who have found you only get 3 activation codes, if you have to reinstall through a PC crash, problem or new computer you have to go through their customer support to get it reactivated again.

It's a simple procedure FWD. Some people at RSC just look for the negatives because that's their 'thing'. Bottom line.. it's a fun sim! Have a look at some of the good feedback

If anyone is interested in a race Monday..

Server: Mow2Racing-JPN

The password is mow2sc

With it being private, interruption is unlikely.. and it's a Japanese server so the traffic shouldn't be flooding in at race time
Ping seems to be good , and race is set at one hour, so maybe less practice time for me!
The drawback is that it's just the standard cars installed over there.

If everyone is moving to rFactor, might buy a copy but is it any good..? I've not heard/seen much about it.

Thanks!
Dave.

This sounds good - but if TC and ABS is disallowed I'm screwed.

Yep!

Is it me or does the server disappear from time to time :scratchcin:

Also... those of you with the Logitech Momo wheels.... what do you think...? The real thing I need to know about them is how the pedals and wheel clamp to the floor/desk..

If the clamp isn't any good - i'll have to build something to hold them down!!

Dave.

Dave found a decent server so if we join that we are at the whim of whatever the server is running.

Otherwise it's down to someone to host again and we all know what that means - 6 player limit.

Don't know yet......

I think we are open to suggestions for tracks and cars.
