Anyone got one yet?

Got mine the other day, i must say i'm very dissapointed, most of the games i've tried are rubbish. Resistance is only about 1/4 as good from a technical perspective as COD3. Ridge Racer 7 actually looks slightly worse than RR6 on the 360. The machine is fairly big (same as a 360) and outputs twice the amount of heat, also it fails to recognise discs after several hours of use... The joypads are pants too. HDMI output is only ever so slightly crisper than VGA output.

Rant over.

Oh looks like 100-150k units for the US 'Launch' too.

Forgot about that one, the web browser - thats one feature i do like. Even accepts a usb keyboard and mouse for some lounge based web surfing

Hmmm I was thinking of picking one up in the US this month. Where did you get yours from? Have you got it in the UK? any issues with regards using a US machine here?

I have the Japanese version, imported from HK.

Nearly got linux installed on it today - i think i might actually buy the european one* if i can get MPlayer running (HD media player goodness)... Well worth the money for that feature alone. Current version is buggy as hell, didn't like my usb keyboard and crashes often

* the one i have access to isn't mine.

Depending on the outputs the unit has, so Mplayer. MythTV-FrontEnd, especially if the beast has a cat5 port on it.

Tempted to get one in a year or so now.

Both versions have HDMI out.

Which is good for getting a HDTV signal, however what about audio out? It is SP/DIF or TOSLINK?

The same AV connector that was seen in the PS2 is used (for composite video/Scart + stereo out) and optical out/SPDIF is used. HDMI also carries the sound.

It has a wired network port, the 60gb version has a wifi adaptor built in too.
