As promised I have outlined the set up for the next PH Championship below. This will start on 6th March 2011.

Rules:

Minimum race distance: 80 miles (rounded up but equates to 5 laps of ring in 24hr configuration). So only one race each week (given this equates to 62 laps of somewhere like Tsukaba I think pit stops will be essential). This distance should be approx around 1 hour of race time at any of the circuits.

Each of the 16 competitors picks a car and track combo for each week of the championship. Any car and any track allowed including rally stages providing everyone can buy or has the car in question.

Unless it’s a prize car I think a maximum value of 1 million should suffice. If you think you want to use something that people need to win and/or is more expensive the sooner you can announce the car the better – this will give everyone enough time to buy one. I know Ross copies cars so maybe he could help if anyone stuck without the right car!

PLEASE NOTE: track selected must have a pit lane!

During the championship a track cannot be repeated more than three times. I dont want this turning into a one track championship.

Car and track combo announced at least one week in advance and to include weight, power and tyre choice for said car. This will allow us to set the room with limits to ensure everyone runs the same configuration. As for set up that’s down to each of us.

UPDATE ON PP 27/2/11 Thanks to Rex's testing if I set the hp and weight limit you cannot use the PP setting as well so this is out of the running. However the issue with the power limiter and balast and the extra torque still exists. So far though the cars picked have been stock so if any one runs and power mods and uses power limiter to get back within limits then there will probably be a different engine note so we can pick up - IF YOU ARE CAUGHT YOU WILL BE BLACK FLAGGED AND ALL POINTS FOR RACE LOST - again you have been warned!

For example – I might choose Tsukaba and DB9 running sports soft. 1620kg and 500hp – this would get added to the forum on a Monday following the previous nights race. This gives everyone best part of a week to buy, tune and test car & track combo.

UPDATED 21/2As 16 weeks will be fairly long run we will drop 3 worst scores – this will allow for times where people can’t make it. Now updated to 3 worst to allow for connection issues as well as holidays etc

Penalty system will be OFF to avoid ghosting – replays will be reviewed and points deducted and/or black flag for corner cutting, ramming people off road etc etc. [b]UPADTED 21/2 Following some testing the penalty system is stil the weak link in my book so have decided this will be OFF! With a word of warning - cack driving will result in punishment by the FDDRL (Federation of Darkdice Racing League ) You have be duely advised!!

Damage will be on FULL so we will all have to drive properly!

NO driver aid (other than ABS) allowed - regardless of car!

False Starts will be on!

UPDATED 3/3/11: No waeving on straights only allowed to move once!

3/3/11 - On track marshalls - I will pick after qulaifying 3 drivers (front, middle and back of grid) these guys will be able to call a restart based on incidents - guys you have to be honest if you are picked and not just for your own advantage.



Grip levels will be set to real, regardless of weather, so think carefully about it. Also as real setting is applied you cant keep your foot in on the grass! (well you can but its not advisable).

Qualifying:

Room opens any time before 9pm, if set up in advance track to be set to different track, any time set before pit lane opens for qualifying will be discounted.

Pit lane opens at 9.10pm (strictly) and runs until 9.30. (If track more than 10 miles in length is used, qualifying will be 1 flying lap, but not set before pit lane opens).

21/2 UPDATE: As we have the option of auto race starts I will utilise this. This meems that regardless of track when pit lane opens the race will start at 9.30pm autmatically. ** The only exceptions will be for muliple disconnections but this will be MY call!

In addition if anyone starts the race early by mistake there will be a penatly of -1 point.

Dont worry - if you look at the original champ thread half those listed never showed.

I did raise the point earlier about who Great Pretender was but nothing came back. I havent raced with him, unless he's under a different name.

Personally, given the rules I want to know who's on track before the 1st corner of the 1st race. If you get my drift!

As I also mentioned only put your name down if you can make 90% of the races!

Anyone else care to share thoughts on this? As there are quite a few from current champ who havent signed up. Unless of course we can get 30 or so of us and run a duel one?
