Apparently there is a total eclipse of the Moon tonight at a reasonable hour too - around 9 - 10pm

Let's see who can get the best pictures (Of course, assuming the weather isn't pants!

Open a new file in PS, select black and the paintbrush tool, then click to fill.

Beats getting cold and wet!

Even quicker way.
1. Go to website detailed in first post
2. Save picture
3. Post it here as your own.

Note: Ensure you dont actually post the picture prior to the event!

I don't have an slr, and I'd take an educated guess that my 3second max (automatic) exposure won't be much help... I definitely need a shiny new digital SLR. If any1 wants to donate one pm me

Do entries borrowed from nasa count?

Its clear here, the moon is very low in the sky and not unsurprisingly very dim with a touch of red.

Well not clear now, can see it faintly.
Took some pics but they are pretty crap. Camera not really up to it I think.

Through cloud and coming out of eclipse, managed to get a picture 5 minutes ago:

Was a bit hard to focus through the cloud and could hardly make it out. Photoshopped to improve levels.

My efforts:

Annoyed that the first few (not shown) were unfocussed as they look the best.

Really hard to get a decent photo unfortunatly. Didn't have a tripod and so trying for a decent exposure a decent zoom was extremely dificult and by the time the clouds had moved it was almost over. I'll see if anymore are salvagable!

no, a bbc one

ricardo, I had the same trouble. With max zoom, and then optical and moving my hands further out of the window as well for that extra little bit, it's still a smudge.

Ho-hum.

Sorry, none were up to much.

Here are some more anyway...

It promised to be good but the lack of solid support lets it down.

It was a beautiful night anyway...
