I also share the intrigue as to what the point of 4k is..!
Unless one has there own private cinema its pretty useless.
The only thing i can think it would be helpful for is to extract stills from in more of a 'burst fire' mode.
and thanks to you for the use of your code! Much appreciated! I'll be sure to check the youtube channel out now! Unless one has there own private cinema its pretty useless.

I have just downloaded that footage from the beginning of this thread. Great stuff and very inspirational. Sure beats what I have shot on my HD2. A motorcycle commute to work and a cycle ride round Richmond Park
One thing that pi55ed me off with the camera is the waterproof housing that is no good for shooting underwater. WTF!! pointless.
I was lucky enough to be in the Bahamas earlier this year and I did a lot of swimming and snorkeling over reefs and following fish as well as fun stuff on a fast boat that was in our possession for a week. I took my HD2 but of course I get back and all the underwater stuff is useless and apparently I should have bought an aftermarket flat lens for the housing.
Thanks GoPro for not making that clear, pun intended. Maybe they will send me the money so I can get back there and shoot it all again as an act of goodwill.
Shame as it was a lucky break millionaire lifestyle type holiday that will never be repeated in my lifetime

I guess they got a lot of this sort of complaint hence why the new housing comes with a little flat lens! Its much better than the optional accessory it was with its massive flat front though! One thing that pi55ed me off with the camera is the waterproof housing that is no good for shooting underwater. Well, the camera arrived, the SD card arrived. All good so far - then I tried to connect the littler fker to my iPad. After half an hour of pissing about with no luck I discover that the update enabling wifi connection to the app won't be coming out until November the 12th! I think that Gopro might have mentioned this upfront. fkers.

They're buggers for that, the app for Android still isn't out!My HD 1 (as of about 9 hours ago) is at the bottom of the Caribbean sea
Really gutted, I would sacrifice the camera to get the footage back.
Now to decide. Black or silver?
Black is quite expensive, so please keep me updated with experiences of the HD3 (of all types) to help me choose.
Thanks,
