Well I said I would get something new...

Nick - you should probably retouch the skin that's visible behind the blue glass to match the rest? Nice pic anyway mind, just an observation smile

Loving your stuff (again) Nick.

I'm going to enter one of these shots of my girls:

I prefer the first one but I quite the like second one as it was totally unplanned, just a split second thing, and it's a bit different.

First one or second one?
Second one for me. Dunno why, though - it just seems a bit more "of the moment", if you see what I mean...

Ok, probably going to enter one of the following, all shot on last Friday. C&C positively encouraged. Click the pic for full size.

I prefer the first one, which is in colour, as she has lovely hair. She is very cute and I think colours make the photo more interesting.

I prefer the second one too Bramley. She has a lovely expression on her face and the action makes it more interesting.

I understand other posters giving advice, but not the judge as you have an obligation to be impartial at this stage surely?
I think its more than possible to comment on people's entries during the month and still make an unbiased, considered decision when judging. The point that this month has given us the opportunity to see many more good photos than in recent months is well made IMHO.

If I was judging, it'd be this one, because I just prefer good, sharp "warts-and-all" portraits than a more "glamour" style. Think Karsh rather than Bailey (showing my age now).

The first is fabulous.

The second, to be frank, looks like a stock photography shot that would be used by a web designer with limited imagination who was working on a travel site. No offence, its a nice shot, but nothing compared to the first.

I think Stig is really going to have his work cut out judging this month, a lot of really great images in there!

I think that due to the huge number of entries all of which have, I think, seen a good return to quality over the last few months (no offence just think the turn out now is great)that I will pick a winner and then just give feed back on the rest by grouping them together for similar comments otherwise I will struggle to deem a 2nd nd 3rd, for me its a winner that I'll pick.

Hope this doesnt cause more issues!
