If I was judging, it'd be this one, because I just prefer good, sharp "warts-and-all" portraits than a more "glamour" style. Think Karsh rather than Bailey (showing my age now).
Thanks for your feedback! (Ps: If you want I can forward you my Zimmer frame and mobility scooter offers I’m getting through the post these days… )Edited by Major Bloodnok on Saturday 21st February 12:47
I am going to hold this shot, taken from the actual comp entry thread, of the sort of stuff not to bother posting

if you cant bother reading the rules or the actual competition theme do not bother putting something into the entry threadI've had to tone my language down as to not actually get banned. People READ RULES AND THE THEME
My niece cuddling my brother in law at her christening a few years ago, this was a lucky capture she just put her head down to cuddle him for a few seconds as I had focused on them both.

andy for the fear of waking the gods I shall not be offering any kind of wording in this therad other than to keep people posting to the rules of the comp. I just dont want any furthe controversy
Funny you say that as I was thinking the first was a bit too cute as well. I still have this week to decide, but here's another from last night

A few from York yesterday. C+C very welcome
They all look a bit like holiday snaps. Very Blocky, Pretty washed out, and lacking colour. All in my own opinion of course. But keep at it.My entry ...

I've had an entry in since early on, but it's been niggling me. Can't decide between these two shots...
I think 1 is a nicer comp but doesn't quite have that "bite", while with 2 I feel sucked into those eyes, but not so keen on the comp / angle. What are your thoughts? Stick with what's already entered or twist?

No 1, better angle, better expression, more complimentary lighting and better skin tone but blown highlights on the cheek and nose. Need to reduce contrast slightly and rework with curves, slight softening would help with overall look . Good image otherwise
