I like that..

So if it's straight from the camera - why the 40 minutes to process the shot ?
Because i had long exposure noise reduction, it in a way takes a second black exposure the same length as the first and works it all out. Also as the photo is massive it took a while to save.

31/365 - Achievement - January 31st 2011 by Oliver Meads, on Flickr

So thats January done and dusted.
Todays picture is of me, over looking Worcestershire on the Malvern hills.

We ventured up and setup a sent, only to find we had no pegs. We improvised with frozen cow dung around the edges to keep it down aslong as somebody stayed inside.

The original plan was to have another go at the star trails, but the cloud dropped and we couldnt.

I think I said this a year or so ago when Babo and his mates first came on the scene. There's something about him I quite like that the others don't have.

I was tempted to get one similar to add some interest to what would have been a boring shot but couldn't find something with the same character appeal that Babo has. I even considered a friends Blythe doll since the eyes move / are interchangeable then I seen the costs. I don't want to be copying you but the feeling for Babo is still strong.

Out of interest - What's the manufacturers name. smile I feel a purchase coming on.

www.uglydoll.com, the artist/creator in question is David Horvath, BUT I have to warn you in advance the larger ones I have are all from back in ~2002 and are now collectors items and as such can go for crazy money frown

They currently have 2x sets of 3" vinyl figures which normally retail for 5-10 squid per figure (case of 12 in each set), Babo that is featured above is from the Critterbox/Uglydoll collaboration which saw 9 different main figures go on sale ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/barryoneilphotography...) at the 2002 SDCC (San Diego Comic Con) and these days you normally only find them popping up on ebay and other sale/trading sites as well as toy collector forums, typical price for a Babo etc these days is 120 USD!!!

That may already sound crazy but the 2x large Uglydogs I have ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/barryoneilphotography...) were only made in a qty of 50 and as such go for absolutely mental sums of money (400-1200usd on ebay), and in the last year I managed to pick up one of the original signed artists proofs (of which there were only a couple) of said Uglydog which according to a toy valuation company in USA last year were worth ~3k on todays market (I was fortunate to acquire him from someone who had no idea what it was!).

Bear in mind these guys are hailing from the other side of the Atlantic too, so for the older stuff you end up having to source through the likes of American Ebay, whereas a lot of the newer smaller guys are being picked up by highstreet shops and online stores in UK & Europe too.

You could safely say I'm addicted to Horvaths toys these days...pic from xmas 2010...

(Didn't directly add any pics in so as not to well and truly hijack the thread smile )
