Got quite drunk in Tuscon a couple of days ago and chatting to a Texan who was on a mid life crisis road trip he said “well if you’re heading east you’ve got to see Chiricahua”. So I drove down a road into the arse end of the nowhere to be greeted with this. For my money it’s as stunning as Bryce, but I only had to share it with about a dozen other people. The photo doesn’t really do it justice, I have a Timelapse video of the drive through the park as a keepsake.

Bet that was fun! A proper little best kept secret in AZ and free entry too, crazy that they’re not better known.

I’m driving an expedtiion (4x4) but I didn’t realise until the second sideways movement that I’d have to tell it to behave. Too used to JLR products that detect road conditions and behave appropriately.

Thanks, I'd cleaned the windows on the car earlier, so they were wet, but spotless, the rear screen was equally interesting;

Quite chuffed with this one I took today. Grainy when viewed on a computer but works nicely on a smaller screen.

Samsung S23 Ultra, 200MP, cropped square and "remastered" (and number plate hidden) - came out well. Taken whilst visiting the grandparents at the cemetary. I love how it has come out.

Am I the only one who thinks the Megapixel race has gone silly?

The more pixels you squeeze into the same size sensor, the 'noisier' the image will be before processing (which has limits). So unless you need to crop heavily, you're actually reducing image quality.

...and let's be honest, you only need* 300ppi for smaller prints and 150ppi for posters, so even 20 MP will give you perfect quality for an A2 poster or a 12x18 print.

* You can probably get away with less, but above these figure it makes little odds.
