Quick question guys, just ordered a couple of Hero 3+ Blackeditions and a mate was telling me about a focussing issue that was present on cameras made between 09/13 and 11/13, any truth in this?
Yes, some of the early batches of Hero 3+ had a focus issue where the infinity focus wasn't as sharp as it should have been. The Batch ID, the bit that says 0813, 0913, 1013, 1113 etc isn't really the best indication of whether the camera will have the problem though.GoPro are still using those batch ID's even on new (focus issue free) cameras. The only real way to be sure is to check how long the seller has had their stock.
We replace our stock on a weekly basis so we guarantee focus issue free cameras and they have a 2 year warranty.
You should be able to ask them how long they have had their stock though. Big retailers like Argos, Currys etc may buy a massive amount of stock and slowly sell from it, whereas smaller retailers will replenish more often which should result in a camera from a later batch?

If I can get the 3+ black motorsport edition for the same price as the black is it worth doing it for the mount it comes with ?
The Motorsport Editon is identical to the regular Black Edition. You don't get any different or any more mounts. The only difference is the packaging. The Surf Edition is the only model which comes with different mounts, ie, surfboard mounts.
Hero 2 Motorsport Edition used to come with a Suction Cup but GoPro no longer do this.

That's what I like clever marketing ! change the pictures on the box and bang new product !The Surf Edition is the only model which comes with different mounts, ie, surfboard mounts.

starts to look expensive now no suction mount at £35.
any one uses a Braun SIXZERO, it seems to come with about £200 worth of mounts and seems great value at £199 because of all the kit you get.
very tempted to take a punt on it over the gopro just because the go pro does not some with any thing so not a real price even at the sale of £250.
AT the end of the day we are only posting on you tube.

Hello chaps
My Hero3+ silver is great, but it always focus the back of my seats when I'm doing onboards.
To make matters worse, the road (the whole outside of the car really) is always over exposed, to the point that one cannot even tell if the next turn is left or right.
Is there anyway to fix this or cheat the automatic settings?
ok the spot metering was bang on, thanks everyone. My Hero3+ silver is great, but it always focus the back of my seats when I'm doing onboards.

Now, for the focus. Is there a way to keep the focus on the road or on the dashboard instead of the back of the seats/my neck ? :P
Here is how to get the deal. You have to use Go Outdoors Price match. Also if your not a member you have to pay £5 for a card.
First Go on GoOutdoors website: http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/search/go?view=grid&am...
Selected Motorsport, As black is currently sold out for home delivery.
Then use http://www.westbrookcycles.co.uk/gopro-m346#age2 and find the motorsport camera that should be £259.99 and put that in the price match form on Go outdoors.
They will send you an email confirming the price at £233.99. Then call up or go in store if they have it.
