/\ much better to my eye. Nice work.
Thanks Steve I like it better too !

Playing with HDR it is amazing how many different images can be produced from one set, the nack is to get something that looks like what you see rather like ..mole.. use to do

Just been back to the last page of the old thread - top work on there by londonagent (star trails); Louisa911 (mountain bike); commachio (star trails); and nellyleelephant (Cobra at Silverstone).

Well worth a flick back there even though there's no chance to post.
Thanks Andrew. Loving the new domes.

Top togging as usual.

Even though people have clocked on how to do it (which was always going to happen) at least you have the satisfaction of knowing you created it. Looks damn cool!
Andy's work is always top notch, but I hope he doesn't mind me pointing out that he didn't create it, it's been in other light painters backpack for a while now too, one of the guys who first tempted me into the world of light painting was TCB who lives in the Minneapolis/St Paul area of Minnesota and has spent a lot of time down in the drainage networks below the city producing some absolutely amazing stuff...

You can see his sets on flickr here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/twincitiesbrightest/s...

He uses the same technique as Andy for the domes, and then realised he could also apply it to the underground tunnel work he does, making weird rings of interwoven light.

He's been a little quieter with the mindblowing pics of late, which is why I dropped the set link rather than his photostream.

I was out in Minneapolis in 2008 with work and after randomly photographing the underside of a bridge I discovered his shot from the same location a few hours later and went hunting some light-painting kit down, and after failing miserably using torches and other random goodies I finally stumbled on the discontinued LEDlenser garden light which produced a stunning ribbon of light (which I used to make images like the one below).

Once again, no disrespect to Andy, he has grabbed the darkness by the neck and firmly rung it, mucho respect for the work he is churning out day after day...just wish I didn't travel as much with work as it's killed my creativity in light painting etc as I just don't have the time to set it all up these days...

lots of stuff
IMO AWN has taken the tool used to create some of TCB's amazing pictures and adapted it so it works in a more everyday environment rather than a large drain, and consequently has come up with a unique set of images that has certainly inspired me to try and raise my photography game.
In order to protect the secret, I'm sure Andy wont comment on whether we are right, but like you my eureka moment of working out how the domes were done was when I saw some of TCB's work and his 'how it was done'posts.
