Really not sure what pole to order.

I know Gopole have a new version of the reach coming at end of month. But won't be able to get it shipped in time before i fly to Mexico. So options are

GoPole Reach

SP POV 36

or UKpro 36XD or 38HD

To much choice !

Have just ordered myself a GoPro HERO3+ BLACK Edition. I'm assuming that's decent one ? Now where is the best place for mounts ?? Any spurious ones or stick with go pro themselves??
Dropped you an email ;-)
Got it, cheers.

Any recommendation for a bag that will hold a Hero3+, suction mount, roll bar mount, remote, loads of brackets, a couple of cards, spare battery etc?
I order a bag but when it came wasn't as big as it looked in the pictures frown plus camera fit was poor.

I bought a flight case, some foam and a craft knife, and made my own. Perfect fit. smile

Looks like a trip to Maplins to see what they're got, or is there an alternative to the Peli cases that's a bit cheaper as I'm not going out into the field on camera shoots, it's just for the car really.

Can I also ask if it's worth getting the LCD touch screen when I've download the app on the iPhone? And the battery backpack, is it worth it or just buy a couple more batteries?

The LCD is great in certain circumstances. Underwater or when you can't or don't want to hold your mobile phone to see what's in the frame. The touchscreen makes navigating the menu so much easier too. I didn't think the LCD would be as popular after the App came out but it's still selling really well.

The Battery BacPac again is great if you want continuous power and can't or don't want to swap batteries, again great for underwater or anywhere you don't really want to remove the camera from the housing. Timelapse is another good use of the Battery BacPac.

Interesting, I have the screen for Hero 2 and actually find it's almost unviewable underwater. A combination of diving mask and the water seems to create some kind of polarisation that renders it all but useless.

In fact, all I ever really use it for is to 'setup' a shot, before removing it. Have they improved them a lot?

I had no idea the LCD screen was waterproof as well. Might be worth a go for me then.

As for a case, given the price of the bloody camera, a Peli case is justifiable in my opinion!

In the Hero 2 it isn't! It comes with a deeper case back so you can clip it on and then waterproof it. Same on the 3?

Yeh, it's waterproof inside the housing and you get bigger backdoors so that it fits inside the original Hero 3 or Hero 3+ housings. 6 backdoors in total.

i dont have the lcd but have the bacpac battery - filmed some stuff with whale sharks on holiday and the battery was great - in and out the water non-stop filming for a couple of hours (although only shooting vid for short sections of time).....was a brilliant purchase.

And I'm not fussed about the LCD as find I can view the camera settings great underwater.

What is the benefit of the skeleton backdoor? Does if have benefit with regards to wind noise? Thought I had also read that it helps the lense not mist up inside a car, is that true?

For use with the skeleton case... i.e. when you don't need waterproofing or soundproofing and want better sound. It makes wind noise worse.
